So I just starting playing with Deus Vult installed and I've noticed something about my reputation. Someone tell me if my observation is correct.

My reputation seems to go down, playing as Castille, when I force a peace on Muslims where I take their territory.

If I am not hallucinating this, why on earth should my reputation go down amongst Christian rulers for trying to stamp the heathens out of Iberia?

Because they are wary of your growing power and do not wish to see it grow any more. Would you be happy if someone suddenly gained more power near you, regardless of what religion they are?

Maybe not if the year was around 1100, the person gaining power was blessed by the pope, and the Pyrenees separated me from the person doing the gaining of power.

But point taken.

In CK you did not gain BB from taking muslim or pagan lands, but that made the game too easy. So now you get BB from growing, no matter what religion they have.

But they also introduced Force-vassalizing in the peace options, and this costs no BB. So it is still possible to expand your realm with no bad reputation, you just gain alot of vassals instead.
