Please in the name of saving me from myself, can someone do a mod that adds a real world clock to the game? It could sit in the unused space just to the left of the in game calendar and game speed icon.
 
You can type the command time into the in-game console to return the current system time. I know that's not exactly what you were looking for, but it's a workaround. I have no experience in modding the GUI.

Alternatively, you could just look at your phone/watch/sundial.
