I switched around some researchers into research ships so they gain new traits (why no traits when assigned to research? All other leaders get them on level up)
But sometimes one is shown as available in the researcher list even if he is assigned. I had some researchers assigned to multiple things too, but I believe this was before the latest 2.2 update.
But researchers shown as available while working is still happening.
