"Reserved for Developer Replies" posts why?

Couple years ago they started doing a pinned "Reserved for Developer Replies" post at the top of a lot of games' DDs.

I just don't get the point of them when there's literally a "show only dev responses" button.

IIRC said button wasn't available for some time in threads of the "DD" type. Was a bug or something when they introduced this special type of thread.

In my personal opinion I find this collection of replies in one place very convenient so I don't need to use that button.

To add relevant information they haven't thought of beforehand to the beginning of a thread after having discussed the topic,
instead of having it spread out over many reply posts and to summarise and clarify that information, as far as i know.
