My specs: I'm running Nobara 39 (a modified version of Fedora Linux) using the KDE Plasma desktop environment in a Wayland session on an XPS 15 7590.
Stellaris was running fine for me, the only issue being some slight pointer lag which was annoying but not terrible. After noticing a similar issue in another 4x game which disappeared once I dropped the resolution down from 4k to 1080p I though to try that with Stellaris as well. Unfortunately this caused Stellaris to render at that resolution in a corner of the screen rather than taking up the full screen at the lower resolution as it should. To make matter worse, since I had been previously playing with the ui scaled up to 1.5x (since it was on a relatively small 4k screen) the menus are now too large to navigate or save properly meaning that I can't even change any options to return things to how they were. Is there any way for me to reset the graphics options outside of the game or perhaps force it to launch wit default options? Additionally, while this is a lesser secondary concern, is there a way to run the game at fullscreen lower resolution without it shrinking into the corner? I understand that I'm running Linux (with an Nvidia card to boot) so maybe it's just borked for me but if there is a solution that someone knows I would love to hear it. Thanks for your help!
TL;DR - Tried to change resolution, game went tiny but menus stayed large, can't change back. Please help.
Update: I remembered I was running a popular ui mod that I had installed ages ago which was making the menus even larger. It was not the root cause of the issue, but exacerbated it even further. After launching without the mod the menu was just small enough that I could catch the edge of the save settings button barely peaking onto the screen. So my main issue is arguably resolved but if anyone knows anything about why the screen ended up shrunken in the corner like this in the first place I'd love to learn.
