[RESOLVED} Unable to download Paradox Launcher

Hello, I got a new computer the other day and I wanted to download the launcher so I can use dlc and mods when I play EU4. But when I try to download the launcher (with launcher-installer-windows.exe) I get this error message:

And when I try to run the game through steam nothing happens, the game doesn't launch and the play button goes back to normal

Please try deleting the entire contents of the c:\Windows\Installer\ folder - they are all temporary files.

There is no C:\Windows\Installer folder, even with hidden items shown no such folder exists

Ah, then perhaps that is the problem as that is a standard Windows folder! Any idea how it got deleted? BTW it is a hidden folder.

Whether you can make a new one manually and have it work okay, or it needs to be done as part of installing Windows, I do not know I'm sorry.

Issue resolved, the problem was that launcher-installer-windows.exe didn't have the necessary permissions, all I had to do was go to properties and give "ALL APPLICATION PACKAGES" and "ALL RESTRICTED APPLICATION PACKAGES" all permissions
