In my latest game the wood and horse resources seem to not be working as they should.

I'm playing the Achaean League and I can't produce archers or triremes in Argolis (which produces wood) or Thessaly (which trades wood in from one of my other provinces) but I can make them in Achaea and Euboea (which trade it in from foreign provinces).

I don't have all three situations with the horse resource but I can't produce them where the province has it or trades it in from another one of my provinces.

Strangely, iron seems to work just fine.

The game correctly recognises the fact that I have wood or horses in the province and clicking on the unit makes the production sound but doesn't put the unit in the build queue.

I've tried resigning and reloading the save: issue remains.
I've tried restarting and reloading the save: issue remains.
I've tried loading other saves and they're fine.

It looks like it must a corrupted save but I don't understand how the save would affect such a thing.

Has anyone else experienced such an issue?

I have not seen this.

Have you waited the requisite month for the trade route to start up?

Read my post. The trades were active, I could see the units in the recruit list. And one of them wasn't a trade, it was actually the province's resource.

Just to be clear: I can see the units that I should be able to create but clicking on them doesn't add them to the queue.

UPDATE:

I think I may have found how it was caused:

When I forced Macedonia to give up Euboea and claims to several provinces in a peace deal I couldn't use my resources.

When I reloaded the save and replayed the war but forced Macedonia to give only give up the territory I could use my resources.

I have only seen that happen in two circumstances, in both cases the game gave me tooltips -

One of them was out of manpower, the other was out of mercenaries. Either way the bar turns grey for whichever thing it is.

Granted, I never make the AI give up cores, because I don't really care - "DoW me again so I can take more provinces!" Is usually what I'm thinking :D
