Surviving Mars is my first experience modding. I'm having a blast with it and am really excited to recognize that I have ideas that the game developers might not have considered and yet, combining the elements that they have created, I am able to bring that vision to life within the world nonetheless!

...but I've seen some complaints that not everyone is able to enjoy the work that I've been doing just because they didn't make the purchase via Steam... our GoG compatriots don't have access to all these amazing mods so readily, it seems. I want them to be able to experience my work, though!

How do I go about making my mod available for players who bought the game through avenues other than Steam?

Thanks in advance!

Looks pretty straight-forward to upload them there, too. Just gotta make a ZIP file of the mod folder and upload that.

...so many stinkin' options get thrown at you while trying to upload, though... after going through the experience, wow... they want soooo much stuff. I just ignored half of it. Thankfully, things worked out just fine by doing so... but whew, they ask for a lot when you upload something!

They do. All you really need is an archive of the mod and an image. Just skip all the stuff. It is necessary for Bethesda games though. The site started with Morrowind and modding those games has become quite sophisticated.

I just added a link to github on my mod. Dont really want to upload to a bunch of different platforms.

Yeah... I think I'm only going to bring super major updates over to NexusMods. The little fixes that happen on a daily/weekly basis... it's sooo easy to push them to Steam that there's no reason not to, but that's just because of the convenience and ease since it's integrated in the Mod Editor like that.
