Sorry for leaving this hanging on for so long, little bit down on my luck IRL ATM so I wasn't feeling up to writing, but since I'm here may aswell update this and get a start on my WW1 Imperial Germany AAR
Chapter 20: The Boring Times
September 11 - December 31st, 1944
4 Chinese divisions launch an offensive action into Western Turkistan with moderate success against the entrenched defenders, the 2nd Carrier Fleet reports the presence of American wolf-packs in the Southern Kamehameha Basin, which are subsequently sent to Davy Jones' Locker by our carrier aircraft equipped with depth charges, our researchers announced that they have developed newer Rocket Artillery & Ammuntion, 16 divisions are ordered to be trained & equipped with these new brigades.
While Rocket Artillery consume more supplies than normal Artillery, they are useful if you need the firepower but need the resources otherwise spent on Artillery elsewhere.
With the remaining Yankee fleets in a state disrepair and disarray, it was decided that the time was right to seize the naval base at Pearl Harbor and guarantee Chinese hegemony in the Pacific, 2nd Battle Fleet and 1st Carrier Fleet are sent to cover our invasion forces with the 2nd Carrier Fleet acting as backup, with their air groups being sent on ground attack missions. Li Mi, a veteran Fortress Buster, leads the assault on Honolulu, it seems that most of the forces that were defending it were in all those troop transports we've sunk over the previous battles, as victory is easily within reach this time. On September 20th the Soviet Union announces that it's war is a Great Patriotic War, with millions of reservists filling the void in manpower that the Red Army had up to that point, reports come in from the front that the Russian's are also starting to fight harder, especially when they attempt to retake their lost territory.
While we laugh and scoff at their recent surge in manpower, the Nazi's find this no laughing matter at all (If they even laugh, that is)
Desperate to preserve their only major base left in the Pacific, America sends in a battle group with 4 standard-type battleships and a equal number of destroyer divisions to break the blockade, they take heavy damage from a combination of carrier aircraft and the superior firepower of the Chinese battleships and cruisers, they are forced to pull back to Pearl but not before sinking the 32nd CL and shooting down a couple dozen aircraft. 2 days later more reinforcements in the form of troop transports, destroyers and light cruiser attempt to break through the blockade... with predictable results.
They had to have broken our naval codes by now, yet they don't know when a defeat is going to become a disaster.
After a relentless assault from land, sea and air, on the 27th of September the remaining American GI's defending what's left of Honolulu lay down their arms, their surrender is accepted, but the navy had different plans; they decide to sail out into the gaping maw of the blockading fleets, several destroyers are lost defending the USS Randolph to the death, before she is finished off by dive-bombers from the carrier Gansu, the remaining Yankee ships make a break for California but orders are sent out to both Battle Fleets and the 2nd Carrier Fleet to intercept and destroy as many of the enemy as possible.
It is now or never.
The 2nd Battle Fleet catches up to the 4 American battleships which were making a break towards California, on paper it looks like the Chinese forces were at a disadvantage, but what we lacked in ship numbers was more than made up for by the fact that not only were the American's already battle-damaged, but the larger guns on the Shaanxi (1940) and Yunnan (1938) along with the heavier firepower of cruisers (Many light cruisers are also up-gunned compared to their hull/engine) meant that the American ships were greatly outgunned and by the time the survivors managed to slip away in the darkness, the capital ship situation in the Pacific has been completed reversed overnight.
The next day the 1st Battle Fleet intercepts and destroys the AA cruiser Atlanta and several more destroyers, and we begin the deployment of Improved Security Units to our military police forces, which should help dissuade any troublemakers and rabblerousers in the vast occupied territories.
The Pacific is China's lake... for now.
To strike home the propaganda effect our recent victories have had on the American public, an air raid is launched by the 2nd Carrier Fleet to strike the ships stationed in San Diego, but the aircrews were still not fully replenished and the effectiveness of American Interceptors and Radar on their home turf forced the operation to be called off after a couple of days, which ends up being one of the few victories they score at this point. Since we haven't the got the forces to invade the United States and the fact that they need to recapture Honolulu before they can even think of attacking us where it hurts, most of China best naval and air forces are stationed in Honolulu with several crack divisions guarding the strategic port to prevent any invasion attempts.
On the 8th of October the government of Oman takes flight to London as Chinese soldiers seize near-total control of the country, our spies acquire an update on the current strength of the US Navy around this time, however it must not be forgotten that the Yankees have more than twice the ship-building capacity that we do, and there are reports that they have already started building large numbers of heavy and light cruisers to replace their losses, which shouldn't pose a serious threat as we have 10 more top-of-the-line light cruisers commissioned by the end of October.
The Republic once again has a Grand Fleet, China is now the world's only naval superpower.
However, thanks to all these years of naval production and research , China has been left completely unable to build her own armored forces, so a shift in foreign policy so as to facilitate the licensing of Armour from Germany and Motorized from Italy was needed, Zhang Zun retakes the Foreign Ministry and starts cozying up to the Axis, it is even suspected that he is on their payroll, but we can always can him again if he gets unruly.
Our armies win a few skirmishes with the Soviets and Mongolians at Ust Kamenogorsk, Namangan and Shu, while a British Field HQ has been forced to evacuate Ra's Madrakah, our military planners inform us that the Germans have seized Leningrad on October 29th, with the Soviets attempting to cover-up the news until November 3rd.
So much for Pravda.
Mop-up operations are commenced in northwestern Australia at the start of November, which has stayed out of Chinese control up to this point due to priorities and circumstances elsewhere taking precedence, such a large and barren territory could prove to be a quagmire if we are not careful. The Dutch attempt to save the day with their 'Fokker TV' bomber aircraft supporting the remaining Australian defenders, but fall prey to General Chennault's Flying Tigers. On the 18th 2 division's led by trickster Lee Beom Seok land at Exmouth, supported by the 2nd Carrier Fleet's air arm, the 1st Australian Cavalry commanded by fortress buster Callaghan eventually surrenders.
With work on them being discontinued early on due to a combination of naval supremacy and a need for more foot soldiers, it was decided to cancel 7 out of 10 remaining serial runs of our light cruisers. On November 9th the German ambassador offers to pay purchase a large sum of Rare Materials per day, we eagerly accept this knowing that it makes Germany dependent on us (And they'll have to supply the convoy's for it!) It is wondered whether this has anything to do with the Warsaw Uprising by the Polish resistance, while the Germans slowly lose more ground to the British on their home islands, they are still clawing into Soviet territory.
The Germans aren't alone, we have economic ties with Italy and Romania aswell.
The Bush War rages on in eastern Africa, Portuguese bombers attempt to bomb our militia out of Tete, but while we have no airfields in the region yet, the Liaoning's air group is sent to intercept them after being sent on ground attack mission's, even so the raiders eventually decide it best not to leave their airbase lest they be wiped out. As more territory is taken more collaborationist governments are set up to ensure that supplying our troops in the jungles, deserts, mountains and other rough terrain and sorely lacking infrastructure doesn't become a headache, as it is our militia and mountain divisions are easily holding their own against Colonial and Commonwealth troops alike.
Free from British or French interference, the 1st Raider Squadron continues to sink enemy convoys around the Cape of Good Hope, a notable victory is achieved over a combined Anglo-Belgian-South African force at Costermanville.
The real prize is Elisabethville.
Our forces continue to make headway in Yemen, defeating their Cavalry troops at Say'un the only thing hindering our forces being the extreme desert temperatures, once Yemen falls we can finally have a base to launch an assault on Cyprus, which remains British and effectively out of Italy's grasp.
The British Empires cronies are being dealt with.
Finally, our alignment to the Axis is such that we purchase licenses for 8 motorized from Italy and light armour from Germany on December 23 the 1st Armored Corps will have 1 light, 3 medium and 1 heavy armored division's with motorized support, our training laws are raised after we finish training 8 infantry divisions to increase the quality of our forces in the future.
Meanwhile the situation in Central Asia is deteriorating, the Bubing Di 15 Shi division has been cut off by a Soviet winter counteroffensive and in spite of our attempts to reach them in time they are eventually destroyed, the Soviets succeed in breaking our defense at Burubaytal on New Years Eve, we start the production of 3 brigades worth of E-50 Standardpanzer medium tanks
Neither will these new forces be ready in time nor will they be deployed to this front.
