William frowned as he read the dispatches from the Continent.
Another war, he thought as he sighed. Soon the Continent will be in flames.
But there was nothing he could do. He was committed to the fight in England and he would battle to the end.
He began to compose his correspondence for the day. The Dutch debt situation was spiraling out of control and so he wrote to the Republic's creditors, begging them to reduce their interest rates in this time of crisis.
Greedy money men.
He then wrote some letters meant for publication across England. It was propaganda designed to convince undecided Englishmen to aid him. He wrote of the horrors of unrestrained Catholicism and the barbarity of James' Irish and Scottish allies. He exhorted the Englishmen to fight for their liberties and combat Bourbonist despotism.
After he finished, he placed the letters in his courier's hand and called for the Duke of Marlborough. They had a war to win.
