Well... there is Barbarossa?!? The mass of german units is in the East fighting of the soviet troops. The events described by wazzul happened parallel to the german campaign in the east to relieve pressure of the soviets.

Really? Narrative never said that, there is even no year mentioned anywhere, it could very well be 1936 or maybe Germany made unholy alliance with Soviets.

It is somewhere around the midth of Octobre 1941. The game has to go as historically acurate as possible until 1942. Therefore all major DOW (Poland, GB, France, Russia, USA etc.) have to be on their historical dates. Unholy alliance is not allowed by our house rules.
I agree that Wazzul should put this in his next AAR post :)

I will make a short post on Barbarossa nothing has really happened though after about 3 months I believe Germany just achieved a breakthrough but winter will start soon. Germany pushed a few provinces in and retreated back now its pushing again and has a breakthrough on the river. I will update on world events in the next post when Japan joins in.

Italy is Hit Hard
italy1.png
After Yugoslavia was seen as a bad location for an Invasion we shipped more troops into southern Italy and planned for a massive push. Fighting was long and hard any cause many causalities on both sides. Great Britain maintained air superiorty and its bombers were making an effect on Italian divisions with some artillery attachments going below 20% strength. The push was going well and the eastern flank was pushed 2 provines past Napoli while Napoli was attacked from the left.

Italian defenses in and around Rome appeared weak and British command jumped on the chance to invade. 8 landing ships and marine division were put outside Rome and the invasion began.
Rome Invasion.png

Rome was quickly and easily captured Italy sent its whole navy that up to this point spent its whole time in port to try and save Rome but the fleet was easily dispersed with Italy taken loses. With this Italy and Germany rushed troops to Rome and after about 2 weeks British forces were pushed back out to sea. (For some reason not all the division made it and disappeared even though there were more than enough transports to take them after they were sent to Egypt we believe I was OOS with the host) The damage had been done with all Italian supplies captured and some 80k Metal which went straight to London Replenishing London low supply of metal up to 99k.

With German troops in Italy the push ground to a halt and Britain was forced to take up a defensive line. However the war seems to e taking some effect on Italy which US intelligence has their manpower down to 400.

Russia 1.png

On the Russian front the Germans continue to push east with it now being March 1942 Summer will soon start up again.

British Carriers also engaged the Japanese fleet near Singapore destroying 2 Jap subs and successfully defending off a Japanese invasion of the Philippines. Japan has lost at least 1 whole carrier fleet and some more carriers and escorts from other fleets I will post exact naval loses from everyone in another post later.

Momentum Shifts

Russia launched a counter offensive in the south surprising Germany and momentum quickly shifted. The Germans retreated crowding into smaller and smaller areas until the were finally pushed into Crimea. German armor was lost and Germany currently has many division trapped in Crimea getting supplied by sea and air. Simultaneously Great Britian slowly ferried troops from the mountainous Italian terrain and moved into Greece to start a Yugoslavian invasion.

Great Britain had been giving 70 IC to Russia over the last 8 months through lend lease to help the Russians survive the German offensive. The allies lend lease program has seemed to shift favor to the Russians however one mistake and Germany could be on the offensive again. Germany is still strong even with the loses.

The axis nations dealing with the new Russian offensive and with heavy loses in the south could not cover Yugoslavia and Great Britain advanced all the way to Belgrade. Italian troops have moved over trying to slow the offensive but are greatly outnumbered. Romania is now looking at British troops to the south and Russian troops the the east.

With the offensive shifting east Germany could not keep up fighter support in the west and allied bombing wreaked havoc on German Industry lowering its effective IC somewhere from 470to 380. Lowering German production by about 90 just from strategic bombers. The newly upgraded bombers could now hit Berlin and began constant bombing runs.

The fighting has also brought German manpower to dangerously low numbers.

In the East the US Navy destroyed another Japanese carrier fleet and now the US has almost complete control of the pacific.
Naval loses will be posted later.

The screenshots do not quite do justice to the scale of the encirclement near Crimea (it contained over 30 panzer divisions alone). That was the entire southern front for Germany. The mistake that was made as I understood it from Nesi was that he thought that these two provinces near the harbor east of Odessa were connected rather than separated by sea.

Germany was bled white in terms of MP with the heavy fighting on all fronts. They were completely out of manpower in november 1942. Turns out it is a bad idea to fight throughout the winter in Russia :)

Allied Victory

to be updated

The allies plan became to stop fighting in the mountains of Italy and fight in the plains of Yugoslavia. We would push from the south and the Russians from the east.

To do this we had to give up the level 10 airbase in Italy with the radar we also built.

With the axis players now spread too thin we were able to push against the inferior Romanian troops with ease. We started the assault on the Romanian capital. It was then that Germany and Italy started logistical bombing and landing paratroops. The bombers were fought off and the paratroopers were surrounded and captured.

The US came to the European front with Japan beaten and landed about 20 divisions of mostly armor in Belgium. Germany put up a front quickly but had to retreat to the old German borders. These 3 fronts combined were too much for Germany and it started to crumble. At this point Germany was also out of manpower and the axis stood no chance.

Final the Romanian capital was capture and Germany was utterly defeated. Hundreds of brigades were now surrounded in Russia and the remainder of the game was a rush between the UK and Russia trying to capture important cities.
