Hello,

I cannot continue my latest game since the update yesterday. The save game files are not displayed while running the game. But they can still be found in the save game folder on my computer.

My last save game file was using version 1.33.2.0.

I tried to roll back to the old version 1.33.2, but it is not shown in the "betas" list.

1.33.2 is not an old version, it is the current version.

Current versions are never shown in the list of betas, as they are not in fact betas.

OK, I noticed this, too. But the reason, why I first thought I had to roll back to an older version to get access to my save game files is the fact that the save game files are not displayed in the running game anymore. On Wednesday I was able to continue my last save game from the start. I was able to load any of my save game files. Since Thursday the save game files seem to be lost. I read all the postings and articles on this tread and tried to understand and solve the problem. I found out that the version of the save game files is 1.33.2.0. My first idea was, that maybe I had rolled back some time ago and the save game files belonged to an older version. But this seems to be wrong. The save game files are still there in a folder on my PC. Any ideas?

Do the save games should up in the save games list in the single player menu when you activate the checkbox to show incompatible saves? Then the tooltip for the exclamation mark shows some information about what the game thinks is wrong. It might be that a mod or DLC was deactivated or removed.

Disclaimer: I'm not working for Paradox. I'm just trying to help people.

Can you attach one of your saves here? Then I can have a look if the save is broken. If it is not broken, eu4 is probably not looking in the folder where your saves are. This could for example happen if the configuration for your Documents folder changed

This is my last save:
I can load this save without problems. The player nation is Ming and the date is 1606.7.1 and it is played without DLCs. Does this match the last campaign you were playing?

In which folder did you find the save and where do saves end up if you start a new campaign and immediately save it with a name which you never used before? (with a unique name, you can use the file search function of your OS to find the file if it doesn't end up in the folder which you expect).

grotaclas, you are a genius!!:)

I recognized a second folder named "Paradox Interactive" with my test save inside after following your advice.

It seems this second folder was created by the game itself automatically, because it did not like my idea of reorganisation when I put together all of my different game folders into one new "games" folder. Therefore I had two existing "Paradox Interactive" folders, but the one with all of my save files inside was ignored by the game.

Thank you very much!

There is no magical way how the game can know that you reorganized your folders. Folders are only identified by their location, so the game can't know that the folder in a new place is your save games folder unless you tell the game and the launcher to use the new location.
