I recently installed Windows 7 on my computer after a clean wipe; tried to install Rome with the 2010 C++ libraries; which failed.

Then I did the fix with the 2005 compatible libraries; which enabled the application to function. However upon starting a game the time-table reset to 153 B.C, then after the Jan 4th mark reset to 1 A.D/AVC. Then every country in the world was at war with Rome, including itself, with a truce set to expire on 6.1.1

Any ideas on how to fix this? I did a clean install from Gamersgate as Rome 2.32 Gold (Vae Victus), and plan on using the Reign of the Ancients Mod.

Also, Diplomacy failed to initiate after 2 months. I think I quit in confusion after that.

What version and checksum are you seeing? It should be on the main game menu screen, failing that you need to start an MP game as Host to see it.

I was playing Rome v.2.32 vanilla; no mods or changes (other than a minor redistribution of land over to the Judea population as a starter point in 474 AVC). Will check the checksum as you've described.
