Random and Historical Events
And I've chosen Austrian Lowlands to start me off.

Well let's start from 1492,

I first decided to make some goals for myself to finish by 1510.
I decided on:

Bailiffs in every province.

Create a strong Alliance

And to try and vassalize Bohemia and Hungary.

Now it's time to fill you in,

1492: I managed to get Bohemia, Hungary & Lorraine into my alliance. I also got relatives to marry into England and Lorraine's courts.

1493: Wurtemberg joined our court in marriage and later in alliance.

1494: Royal Marriage with Saxony and The Palatinat. Venice annexed Ragusa. I was going to invite Saxony into our Alliance, but Hannover had bet me to them. I have a feeling the royal court wants to punish Hannover 4 what they did. Soon.

1495: The Spanish court was graced by our ambassadors, improving relationships between us. The whole world saw the glory of Austria, improving relations. Royal Marriages were formed with Spain, Navarra and Denmark. Sibir annexed Astrakhan.

1496: Royal Marriages were forged between Milan, Cologne and Austria.

1497: Raising Armies in Franche-Comte & Alsace, some people wondered if there would be war. The French have been loading troops by me for awhile, so I thought it wise.

December 30, Our nobles were in the grand hall where we were having a feast with honoured guests. A messenger came quietly in (so not to disturb anyone) and told me that France had declared war on us, Austria. So I informed the guests that the party would have to be cut short, for we need to plan this war to our advantage.

The First Franco-Austrian War

The French Alliance The Austrian Alliance

France Austria
Savoy Bohemia
Helvetia Hungary
Sweden Lorraine
Papal States Wurtemburg
Navarra
Modena

January, My troops spill into the French province of Nivernais.
There were already French there, which lead to battle.

February, France besieges Lorraine.
Helvetia besieges Wurtemburg.

March, I move troops into Picardie,
I won against French in Nivernais.
& I move troops straight into Picardie, right away assaulting its walls. They will soon see the true
light and power of Austria.

April, Move troops into Caux and assault but pull out, weakening walls.
March troops from Tyrol to Helvetia. There I encountered newly trained Helvetians who were no
match 4 my time aged, high moral troops.

May sees Caux fall to me and Lorraine to France. Helvetia is still besieged by Hungary’s troops and ours.

In June Navarra beat us out of Helvetia, Nivernais falling to our troops, and France besieging Franche-Comte.

In August, Champagne falls and troops besiege Normandy. Then on the 25th, France comes out of the blue with an offer of Nivernais, Champagne and Picardie. This was a good offer that I just couldn’t resist. All of my northern provinces r now contiguous.

The Period of Peace, 1499-1505

After the war, The court was so pleased with the outcome of the war that I was promoted to Viscount. Then 4 some strange reason the Russians took a liking to me. Maybe it was because I whipped France?

The Next 4 or 5 years I spent money on raising troops and improving relations between Lorraine, Bohemia and Hungary. Hopefully I will be able to vassalize them.

Then in 1503, it happened. Hungary’s monarch was in an accident and died. We offer our sincere condolences, but inside we realise that we had a dynastic alliance. It was a strange day of mourning and rejoicing.

Not long after this event, I was promoted to Count.

I had to keep raising troops, though, because France was looking rather greedily to those 3 provinces I had taken last war. I thought it wise to protect my interests.

When r those stupid, stuck-up French going to learn. I mean they declared war on me again in 1505 with the same alliance both sides. I decided with the help of some of the most prominent people in Austria that France wouldn’t live to declare war on me again. That will teach them!

The Second Franco-Austrian War

The French Alliance The Austrian Alliance

France (13k troops) Austria (120k troops)
Helvetia (17k troops) Lorraine (11k troops)
Savoy (35k troops) Bohemia (30k troops)
Modena Wurtemberg (11k troops)
Sweden
Papal States
Navarra

I didn’t count all participating nations troops, just the vital ones.

Ok, let’s start with all provinces that fall to troops:
(Aus) = owned by France, taken by me.

November: Orleanais (Aus)
Maine (Aus)
Caux (Aus)

1506
January: Normandy (Aus)

February: Armor (Aus)
Savoie (From Savoy to Aus)

May: Nice (From Savoy to Aus)

September: Bretagne (Aus)
Vendee (Aus)

December: Poitou (Aus)
Annexed Savoy after 4 attempts.

1507
January: Auvergne (Aus)
Gascogne (Aus)
Promoted to Marquis.

February: Lost control of Nivernais to France (a small price to pay)

April: Limousin (Aus)

May: Lost control of Holland to Sweden.

July: Lost control of Friesen to Sweden.

September: Lyonnais (Aus)
Bearn (Aus)

December: Helvetia offers me 250 ducats 4 peace even though they had Alsace since ???

1508
January: Got control of Holland back from Sweden.

March: Guyenne (Aus)

June: Won assult on Savoie from rebels.

September: Liberated Nivernais from French control.

December: Bohemia accepted peace with France totally 4 the money.

1509
March: Lost control of Guyenne to France
Languedoc (Aus)

July: Peace with Sweden, Return to Status Quo.

September: Lost control of Languedoc to France.

December: Lost control of Franche-Comte to Navarra.

1510
March: Guyenne (Aus)
Languedoc the last province!
Wurtemberg accepted pecae with France for 44 ducats.

August: Finally France decides that it is wise to be annexed by Austria. What a great day it was in
the capital. I am still battling Navarra.

October: Lost control of Lyonnais to Navarra.
Then it happened. Spain who used to be my best friend, got a little bit uncomfortable with
my success and declared WAR on ME.
I accepted peace with Papal States, the leader of whats left of the French Alliance.

The First Spanish-Austrian War, Coming Soon

Goals:

Baliffs in every province: Yes, but didn’t check French provinces.
Vassalize Hungary: Didn’t need to.
“ Bohemia: No
Create Strong Alliance: Yes, up to the Spanish, anyway.

Summary: I didn’t do to well with goals, but I made up in other areas like annexing France.

Any ideas on goals 4 say 1511-1525?

All I have to say is "wow". Yoghurt has some competition for the bloodthirsty title belt.:D

What's your badboy rating at now? If you inherited Hungary and annexed France, it must be pretty bad (presumably that's why the Spanish Alliance DOWd you).

My guess would be that it's up in the high teens now, probably highest in the world. That could be trouble if you don't consolidate your gains quickly, have some periods of peace and prosperity, and let someone else become the badboy for awhile...

But that having been said, nice start! ;)

The First Spanish-Austrian War

The Spanish Alliance: The Austrian Alliance:
Spain Austria
Milan Bohemia
Naples
P-L
Scotland
Persia

This was probably not the best set up war of all time. Now I don’t even think their was anything going 4 me. First, Lorraine and Wurtemberg pulled out of the grand alliance. Then I realised that years of war had left me with inferior land tech. Then my troops were outnumbered 4 to 1. I could do something about troops by cranking up the minting press which I did. I got about 66 ducats 4 my efforts.

Moldavia declares war on us (without any allies), but the royal court know that 2/3rds of our troops r in Hungary. We start moving troops toward them as I hear that Tryol fell to Milan.

1511. Try to give money to Spain but they rejected?! Wallachia alone declared war on me, too. I assult Moldavia which falls. I promptly annex them and move troops to Wallachia.

P-L r being a big pain with their 100k army so in order to get peace, I use ex-Moldavian troops to Mascovy.

On the Western Front, Spain makes an assult on Savoie but my guys stand strong. Won a battle against rebels in Rousillon & I raise a 38k army to deal with the currently 6 revolts.

May saw me (Austria) win an assult against rebels in Rousillon. Lose battle against Spainish in that same province because of lower land tech.

In July, I thought I might offer Spain a white peace, not thinking anything would come of it, but it turned out that Spain was growing a little weary and thus accepted. Even though I would have liked to win this war, it was unrealistic. I need some time to recouparate from France before any other military exploits. This is a good move 4 this AAR if want to contend later in the game. Still at war verses Wallachia.

In August, I’m promoted to Regent.

September finally sees Wallachia fall to my beloved empire and quickly snapped up.

1512 was a good year of crops, doubling income. I have set land tech. to full so that I would have an edge on the competing nations. Throwing out a extra land tech every 2 years now.

1513-1524 were years used building up troop levels & were only broken by the Reformation which I keep toleration at half.

In 1525, Corruption was found in the court. 1 of my advisors had been greedily stashing money out of my abundant treasury. He was quickly killed but the damage was already done. I vowed not to build or buy anything 4 the next year.

Before 1527, Wurtemberg and Prussia were the only Protestant countries, that all changed when both Helvetia, Thuringen and Hansa changed. Me being restless and tired of peace and having a 2/3 million troops I decided to DoW Helvetia and Thuringen. The 4 stability points were a small price to pay....

February, as expected Navarra DoW’s me. Spain DoW’s me and Venice DoW’s me. I didn’tcall on Bohemia, my only ally 4 Spain.

Enemies: Navarra’s Alliance:
Navarra
England
Portugal
Naples

Spanish Alliance:
Spain
Persia
Scotland

Venetian Alliance:
Venice
Teutonic Order.

Allies: Austrian Alliance:
Austria
Bohemia

This time seeing I have superior tech(10) I win most battles.

March: Won assult in Rousillon (Spa) and Calais (Eng.) I little after April, Helvetia offered peace 4 198 ducats to me. Seeing I now had all these other nations to take on, I accepted.

August: Won assult in Venice.

September: Won assult in Aragon (Spa) and Thuringen. I then annexed Thuringen and moved troops to Wurtemberg who also DoWed me. The troops in Aragon I moved to Castille, el khorason de Espana (The heart of Spain.)

October: I won assult in Istria, but couldn’t go further down the coast because P-L had taken Illyria in a previous war. So I sued peace with Venice 4 Istria + money. Spain offers Rousillon 4 peace which I bluntly decline.

November: Won battle in Wurtemberg against Wurtemberg trying to lift the siege. Catalonia falls to my troops. My fame gives me better relations.

December: Spain suddenly offers peace, giving me Rousillon, Gerona and Catalonia. I only had 1 other province in my control. I accepted and slightly remembered a nation in my realm that was called France...

1528

April: Won assult in Wurtemberg and annexed my former ally.

May: Navarra falls to my troops and come under Austria very quickly. I’m only fighting England, Portugal and Naples now.

In June my land tech. increased to 11, logistics.

July: Genoa DoWed me and brought their lackey Modena into the scuffle. I ferry troops across the English channel into Wessex and won a battle against the odds with half the troops of the English.

1529

February: England offers peace offering the newly captured Calais. I decline seeing I have 50k troops in the British Isles.

June: Both Kent and Wessew fall and England offers them in peace, ending my war with the remanants of the Navarran alliance. Captured and Annexed Modena. Move troops to Genoa.

September: Both Hannover and Saxony DoWed me. Hannover’s Alliance was with Brandenberg and Saxony was allied with Bavaria and Baden and Papal States.

November: The Palanat with Lorraine, Cologne and Kleves DoW me. P-L with lackey Pskov also DoW me. I haven’t been asking Bohemia to DoW, but against P-L I did and the cowards dishonoured me.

December: Lost Modena to Papal States, but they can’t go any further because I haven’t annexed Genoa. I haven’t annexed Genoa because an army in Corsica keeps kicking my butt, but they’re losing troops fast.

1530

January: Illyria (P-L) and Baden fell to my glorious empire.

June: Second try, I annex Baden finally joining my empire by bridging the gap.

September: Krakow falls to my troops. I gain control of Oldenberg but lose control of Moldavia.

December: Posen falls and P-L offers Krakow and Illyria. I really wanted Illyria so I could get to Ragusa (Venice.) The winter was coming, too, so it was good. At the end of the session I am still at war with:
The Palanat, Lorraine, Cologne, Kleves, Brandenberg, Hannover, Saxony, Bavaria, Papal States and Genoa.:D :p

Better watch your back, Yoghurt! Who will conquer the world first, Austria or Turkey? I really doubt my peace-loving English have a chance in these worlds (makes my little place the Best of All Possible Worlds!:D :D )

Great countinuing Bocaj:D :D :D

It seems we have a WC-attempt going! Well good luck to you Bocaj! I do not think there has been one completed WC in the EU AAR-board since I signed up on these boards, so I am looking forward to it!:)

And remember the words of the illustrious Professor Ebbesen in the EU2-board; ”If God wanted rebels to succeed he would have given them more cavalry”. ;)

What do you regard as WC? All cities/colonies/TPs under your control? + all provinces colonised?

Perhaps I may also try an AAR with this objective. I assume that for a real WC attempt you would need to set all other countries to minor status in IGC config (so you could annex). Any other comments / hints?

Maybe we can see who can be the first nation-player to rule the world. That would be fun.;)

1531:

January: I finally win against the Genoan army stationed in Corsica, and begin a siege. Ansbach falls to my troops and seeing I already had Bavaria, I annex them.

February: Assult Corsica and win. I annex Genoa, but now Papal States has a land passage to my other provinces.

April: Mainz falls but I don’t annex The Palanat because I want to annex the minors in the alliance first (Cologne, Kleves and Lorraine.)

May-June: Bohemia and Tuscany DoW me but r both alone. Kleves annexed.

July-September: The Palanat wastes dipomats trying to offer me Mainz, which is always bluntly refused. I regain control of Modena from the Papal States. Movaria (Bohemia) falls to my troops.

October-December: Accept peace with Brandenberg (Alone) 4 250 ducats pumped into my treasury. Same happened with Saxony (Hessen.) Hessen controlled Thuringen so it was good. Emilia (P-S) falls to my troops and Papal States offer peace 4 it. I bluntly decline and respond by taking Romagna.

1532:

January-March: Papal States offer Romagna and Emilia which I accept. Move those troops to Tuscany. Bohemia and Silesia fall to my Austrian empire. I re-gain control of Luxemburg from Lorraine.

April-May: Bohemia offers peace wanting to cede Moravia and Silesia, but I rejected it. I am greedy and want the whole country. Capture Lorraine and annex them. The Palanat, being the last in the alliance, is annexed that same day.

June-December: Helvetia and Venice DoW me. Helvetia annexed. I captured Sudeten from Bohemia. I make peace with Hannover, as things were before.

1533: Erz finally falls and Bohemia is annexed into my realm. I also annexed Tuscany and then almost the same time Spain DoWed me. Pommerania with Hansa DoWed me but we don’t even have a common border.?! Aragon and Venice fall to my troops.

1534:

January-June: Naples and the Island province of Corfu fall. I accept peace with Spain 4 Murica and Aragon. (I controlled both Murcia and Estramadras, neither had fortesses.)

July-December: I captured Corfu and Ragusa from Venice and my land tech. increased to 12.

1535:

I first captured Crete and then I had a run in with some Venetian ships. I of course thought I would lose because of their naval tech. Venice must have thought so too, because when I won they panicked and offered me Corfu, Crete and Ragusa, ending a 7 year period of war.

In this war I have been extremely successful, capturing 36 provinces, 1 Cot. Some of the countries I battled twice and I annexed 13 nations. All the glory to Austria. BB: 151. Not much, maybe I need to annex more nations.:p :D ;)

I am not the best writer so it will be a little while (maybe 2 or 3 days) between posts (If u already haven‘t noticed.);) :(

it is okay with the breakes between the posts then we have time to wonder what will happen next;):D:D

In 1536 Brandenberg declared that being Protestant was closer to the true religion, but Austria is forced to turn a deaf ear because we have a peace agreement. By 1537, my annual income is at a all time high with 981 ducats coming from my vast and rich empire. My peace agreement with Brandenburg ends and I DoW them. Their stability is still at an all time low.

And of course the whole Christian world DoWs me, Hessen, Hannover, Saxony, England, Poland-Lithuania, Pskov, Papal States, Portugal, Spain and Naples. I first take Kustrin off Brandenburg, but seeing they conquered Hansa, it might take a little while. June comes and Rome and Anglia fall. I will first see to Naples and Spain before they sure fate is upon them.

Naples and Galicia fall in August, while Calais and Saxony fall in October. Bristol falls at the end of the year.

In February, 1538, Anhalt falls and I annex Saxony. In March, Cornwall falls and England promptly offer me it with Bristol and Calais. It seems reasonable to me, so they get drawn into my empire. After catching Western Prussia and Mascovy they offer peace 4 Western Prussia and Galicia which I agree to. December sees me annexing Hessen after both provinces fall.

In my notes I forgot to mention that I accepted peace with Spain 4 Valentcia and 1 other province with cash. 1539, I annexed bothe Naples and Papal States after capturing Apuila. In May, Pommerania and Venice and T-O DoWed me. Later in the year Hannover came under the rule of the soverign king of Austria.

1540

I finally after 3 years annex Brandenburg with Hansa and Holstein with Scotland and Denmark DoW me. Holstein has a 50k army that will make things a little difficult. In December I take Holstein, but they had taken Mecklenburg in November. Their army is now down to 20k. I march troops to Mecklemburg, where I qucikly take it by assult and annexed Holstein.

1541

I found myself in shock as I still fight Denmark and Scotland. So I capture Jylland and Sjaelland. I annex Pommerania after capturing both its provinces. Cyprus is Venice’s last province, but I can’t crack it because they have a 50k army parked right in the middle of its mountainous terrain. I accept peace with Venice 4 the Cyclades 4 that reason.

1542

I capture Skaane and get offered peace by Denmark 4 it and Jylland and money with is accepted. White peace with Scotland the last person I was at war with. :D

In August 1552, I receive the hard earned gift of the land tech 31. I can build conscription centers. :D

After building consrciption centers in almost all my provinces, I turn to look at the Spanish part of the Iberian peninsula, which has just recently (again) become bankrupt. Those gold mines never pay in the long run.

January 1554:

Jean Calvin shares his heretic views of Reformed church and ignites the passion of freedom in the hearts of the Dutch. I currently have 380k troops in the Benelux lowlands area. After DoWing Spain, Poland-Lithuania with Pskov and Russia, and Sweden with England and Denmark all come into the war against me.

February:

Denmark goes bankrupt. That will make them even easier targets. Milan DoW’s me, which is good because they r the only country I haven’t foughtin the Italian peninsula. They also own Mantua. Leon, Sierra Nevada and Toledo fall to my troops.

March-June:

Venice DoW’s me. I vow this will be the last time. Pripet, Gibralter, Andalusia, Milan, Anglia, Mascovy and Podlasia fall. Portugal also DoW’s me. I accept peace with Spain 4 Leon, Gibralter and Sierra Nevada, and peace with Poland-Lithuania 4 Podlasia and Pripet.

July-December:

Mantua, Algarve, Oporto, Smaaland, Venice and Yorkshire all fall. I annex Milan as soon as I get my hands on Mantua. Portugal offers peace giving Algarve and Oporto before I even get their maps. I accept though. I offered a grateful England getting Yorkshire, Lincoln and Money. And peace with Sweden 4 Smaaland.

1555-1557, Venice:

Won a sea battle against Venice which is one of the first because my naval tech has been suffering. In 56, My first landing of troops in Cyprus won against a 60k army. My troops were 20k strong and the terrain was mountainous. In April of 57, Cyprus falls and Venice with it’s shipyard is brought into my realm. Peace.

My victory points r around 3000, Spain is 2nd with about 500. :D

The Dutch revolts r fully fleeded at 39%. I have 345k army there. Flandres has been spitting out 50k revolts, and that chews up the most of my troops.

1563 The lands that Turkey currently hold has held an intense interest with me lately. I decide that they must be cultured into the way of the Austrian Empire. So far the Muslim world have been very quiet with addressing me. In October I DoW Turkey, but don’t lose stability because we have CB’s on each other.

England DoW me, and Portugal with Spain also declare war. Denmark with Scotland too.

November-December:

Bosnia
Serbia
Albania
and Kosovo fall.
1564:

February-April:

Bujak
Toledo
Estramaduras
Castille
Sjaelland
Lancashire
Gotland
and Anglia fall.

I accept peace with Turkey 4 Kosovo, Bosnia and Serbia, and Spain 4 Andalusia, Toledo + Money.

May-June:

Midlands
The Marches
Wales
and Ostlandet fall.

My 16k army beats a 60k army in Lothian, but gets beaten back by another Scottish army. I accept peace with England 4 Midland, Wales and the Marches.

July-December:

Vestfold
Tago
Jaamtland
Narvik
and Finnmark all fall.

1562 February:

My troops finally land in Iceland, the Last province of the formally free Denmark.

At the moment, I am just at war with Portugal. I have a 30k army heading 4 the Brazils.:D
