Hello,
I can't play to my game. When I launch it, during the flags loading, the game quit and a runtime error message appears. I tried to reinstal, and I try the "Known Issues and Solutions" 6, but the game still don't work. This is not my first game with steam, I havn't any troubles with the others. Do you know what can I to to repair it ? Thanks.

You specifically tried solutions 3 and 4 from there? Both require downloads from MS.

If that doesn't help: please post a dxdiag.txt (you can delete everything after the "Sound devices" section for brevity), settings.txt, system.log and error.log files (you'll need to rename the .log files to .txt to upload). Also open setup.log, search for "checksum", and paste that line only in here.

Hello,
I tried solutions 3 and 4 but that doesn't change anything.

Dxdiag, settings and system are in attachement, but I can't change the error.log to .ttxt so I paste the text :
[graphicssettings.cpp:63]: Resolution width to low. Setting it to 1024.
[graphicssettings.cpp:73]: Resolution height to low. Setting it to 768.
[virtualfilesystem.cpp:570]: Could not open file: gfx/flags/flagfiles_4.tga

I don't found checksum in the setup.log

Your video card is I think good enough to run the game (it needs to support pixelshader 3.0 and vertexshader 3.0), but the driver is really old, I suggest you update it.

Vista 32bit: http://www.geforce.com/drivers/results/42587
Vista 64bit: http://www.geforce.com/drivers/results/42588

The system.txt you posted was from some other game
21:12:58.179 [system.rpt] [always] ==== system log start, build date: Jun 25 2007 version bld-medieval2-update2.1-30 (43169) ===

You could also use the Steam client option to verify Game Cache files, see if it finds anything to fix.

I updated the video card driver. The game crash at the same moment but the message have changed. It's now the classic message "CKII has stop to work"

PS : I don't the good system.txt because I think it was the txt for all the PC, I doesn't found it in cusader kings II data.

Hmmm, OK. Did you do the Steam Verify thing?

And can you try solution 6 again please? Maybe updating the driver will help that work.

And finally, edit that settings.txt to say master_volume=0 , which will disable all sound. If that helps, we have a sound driver or codec issue.

I add the right system.txt in attachments.
I tried the solution 6 again and put "master_volume=0" but the game still don't work. I will try to use Steam Verify as soon as I can, when I have a better conexion, at friday night later.

No changes with Steam Verify Game Cache Files. When I launch the game with the .exe in data, windows send "CKII has stop to work" but when I launch it with steam, he send "runtime error".

OK, and still no setup.log? Or no checksum line in it? How large is it?

We might just try a complete clean reinstall - uninstall the game from Steam and move any valued save games elsewhere. Manually delete the CK2 directories from under the Steam AND MyDocuments folders, now reinstall the game via Steam.
