Runtime Error on Startup

Hi everyone,

I just bought this game a few hours ago. When I hit play (on steam) it comes up with the menu where i can register or start ck2. when i hit start ck2 it comes up with this error below. Can anyone help me as i have no idea what this means, or how to fix it?

Error says:

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library

Runtime Error!

Program: ...mfiles\steam\steamapps\common\crusader kings ii\ck2.exe

This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.

ok seemed to have fixed it, not sure how lol.. think its because i created a userdir.txt file wit just a "." in it.
