Russia: DOW on PLC

This has probably been asked before, but it's a new problem to me, so please bear with me. I'm playing Russia in the GC. Around 1540, Bohemia declared war on PLC. Needless to say, it was losing badly (surprise). Since PLC had moved all its troops westwards and lost a lot of military in the conflict, I was toying with the idea of intervening. However, I didn't get the option of doing a DOW. Instead, I was told I can't declare war on them 'again' before February 1498... Now, it doesn't really matter in the short run, since I wouldn't dream of going to war with PLC at the moment, but it might be distinctly inconvenient in the long run. Any comments on how to deal with (fix?) this would be appreciated.

Send the save game to Paradox so they can figure out what's wrong with it.

I once had this. I was allied with England and Prussia as Russia. Prussia declared war on PLC and I didn't wanna get involved at that moment so stayed out. Dropped out of the alliance and rejoined while England and Prussia fought Poland. I couldn't declare war on Poland either then (also some weird date) till the war with my former (and current) allies was over. So, I guess it's to make xure that if u drop out at first u can't change ur mind later.

That's exactly what happened in my case. I was allied with Austria, Hungary and Bohemia, but we all dishonored our alliance when Bohemia was struck by this bout of insanity. Fighting PLC? No thanks, never Mondays! However, the war ended thirty years ago (it's now 1574), Bohemia lost two provinces to PLC in the peace settlement. I still can't declare war on PLC though... I mean, if it said I can't declare war on them till, say, 1598, I'd have no problem - but 1498?

Anyways, thanks for the input. I might just send the file to Paradox, as DK suggests.

Weird. I could declare war on them again after the war I dropped out of was over.
