Saxnót smiled upon this land, for it is here that he made his home. From thence, he brought forth every son and daughter of Saxony. For many generations, they lived freely and independently of any foreign power, alongside their kinfolk.
Times have since changed, as the Christ-god has killed the old gods. The Elder men have been long replaced by Christian Dukes and Bishops. The old Germany has been replaced by a new one, a Holy Roman Empire, led by a Christian monarch.
Before they were forced out, the Elder men told of a Saxon son, one who would stand taller than any other Saxon, who shall lead a great revolution. It would be his destiny to free the Saxon people of the opressive yoke placed upon them by Rome.
1045, Anno Domini, a son was born to the Saxon people. The spirit of Billung flowed in his veins from his Father. From his mother, the powerful bloodline of Haraldr III of Norway. He was kin to Ekbert the Frisian and Dirk Quintus of Holland. Over the years, he grew strong and tall, an imposing young man of six-feet-and-four. Had the prophecy been fulfilled in this son? Had the Elder men truly forseen the coming of a hero?
We shall see, young Magnus, we shall see...
