Prologue: Then Obertenghis
The Obertenghis were a dynasty descended from Count Obert I of Luni, who was later appointed Margrave of Milan and Eastern Liguria (Which at the time consisted of Genoa, Modena, and most of Northern Italy). They were of Italian origin, though they were influenced by Germanic peoples to the north. At the dynasty's height, it controlled all of North and some of Mid-Italy, as well as the island of Corsica.
However, as of late, the Obertenghi dynasty's last male member is in hard times. He remains with the titles Margrave of Corsica and Massa, but only physically controls the former. Having been invested in none of the modern European Kingdoms, he remains an independent, and therefore unsafe, ruler. The Holy Roman Empire controls much of his family's lands, and is the biggest threat, already controlling many key areas of Italy. There are also the Papal States, which could be an ally, and the Norman Duchy of Apulia under Robert Guiscard, which has taken control of Southern Italy from the Byzantines. There are also the Lords of Napoli and Salerno.
Alberto IV, Margrave of Corsica and Massa, is ready for the challenge. He is also known by his nickname, "Rufo".

Okay, I am ComputerGeek, but call me CG. I am a longtime lurker, not even having an account, but I have created one for the purpose of AARing. Before you assume this is going to be History-Book, it will be comedy. No screenshots, just pictures from out of the game. A.K.A., portraits, gags, stupidity etc. Also, because this is going to be comedy, I will refer to Alberto by historical nickname Rufo. It is, by the way, actually in the game, but it looks more like a middle name than a nickname there. "Alberto Rufo Obertenghi" is the in-game name. I looked up his dynasty on Wikipedia, after I was inspired to write an AAR about Corsica. Everything here in this update is historical. Oh and while I'm on that topic, my goals are:
Regain the Obertenghi Dynasty land by conquering a huge chunk of Northern Italy, which shouldn't be hard given how fast Germany dissolves
Become Duke of Sardinia
Become King of Italy
Conquer North Africa (Possibly)
