I was in the middle of saving a game when I got a CTD. I started CK again and clicked on that saved game. Nothing happened. The three buttons in the middle for kingdoms, duchies, and counties never came up. The game simply froze. Any advice? Or should I just consider it a lost cause?
 
Ive experinced the same problem. The source has been tracked down and will be eliminated in the next Beta Patch. So downloading that will fix it(when it does come out). Unfortuneatly I dont think it can reverse the process(the fix will only protect new safe files, not correct save fules already broken/corrupted). But until then, if you're like me, every time you save save in two files. Also turn the auto save feature on as well.
 
Yes I get the bug as well, frustrating until we get the new patch.
 
Thanks for the help. I've got an older saved game from a year prior, but I had just gotten a son with really good stats when I got the CTD saved game. Oh well.
 
I found the first 40 -50 years I had no problem then once and a while it would happen.
Save often is the only thing I can suggest until the new patch.
