Summary

Save games disappeared from the loading list

Expected Result

That the cities are in the list to load and can be played again

Actual Result

I actually used to save this city in two parrallel save files, but one day both of them disappeared from the list and I was not able to load them. I downloaded both save files from the Steam Cloud and put them into the local save game folder and also tried other suggested things, but they still do not appear ingame.

Steps to reproduce

Press the load game button and the cities disappeared from the list.

First go into Content manager-savegames from the main game menu. If you see these saves in there, enable them (small blue dot).

If you don't see them in there, they are so corrupted that the game cannot recognise them. There is little to no hope of recovering them in that situation I'm afraid!

That said, it would be very weird in two save files both got corrupted at the same moment, especially if saved to the Steam Cloud where they would not be affected by your antivirus or any dis/file system problem you might have.

I hope you had autosave enabled so you can at least revert to a recent one!

Thanks for your reply, I checked and they are also not in the content manager. It's really strange because they are still in the Steam Cloud and now also locally on my PC, but none of them appear in the game, I don't know what happened there, I saved them one after the other like usual... But ok so there won't be any hope to recover them?

But thanks nevertheless, I luckily have one older quick save file, not the newest but not that tragic, hopefully this issue does not appear again!

From now on I suggest you turn on autosaves. AND make a manual copy of your current city save file just before or after each play session, as a 2nd backup. When you do a manual backup, use a new name each time - so maybe like cityname-1 , cityname-2 etc etc. AND do not use the Resume button in our launcher; rather use the Load menu within the game.

I am sorry for this happening to you, whatever the cause!
