Is there a registry tweak or any other way of getting HOI2 to use a different folder to save / load it's games??
It is always a pain when games assume that the program folder is an appropriate place for game saves. They should, at least, be stored under a user's own storage (somewhere under My Documents in Windows). Ideally there should be an option to specify where they should be stored.

Not that I know of.

One thing I usually do is create a short cut to the savegame folder, and put it in the start menu with the Icon for the game, that way it provides easy access.

Well, I never put applications in 'program files' in the first place.

A C: drive is for the OS, and the OS alone. That way I can
1) Use multiple OS-es, while retaining access to all my applications
2) Can reinstall the OS without the risk of accidentily erasing my apps or their data

Nobody mentioned the "program files" folder. He refered to the program folder, the folder that the program is installed to. I assume you do install to a folder and don't leave everything in the root directory. :p :)
