I have been playing an ironman game, and now it loads to a purely black galaxy map with no resources. Tried verifying integrity of game cache through steam, but nothing changed. Other saves work fine.

If this save was from before the recent 3.4.2 patch, then I'm afraid it is ruined! The intent was to revert to the previous patch before you loaded existing saves. Indeed I thought there was a message to that effect when you went to load the save?
I'm having the same issue with the game I was playing last night.
A game from a couple weeks ago will load with no problem, but the one last night won't load correctly. Loading the older game with the new patch did not cause any problems, and I can play it fine, but loading the newer game just gives me a black screen like in the screenshot.

No mods at all, I don't even have all of the DLCs.
I can't understand how one file would work but the other wouldn't. The file I can't get to work was glitching a little due to lots of ship production but it was still working last night.

Same issue exactly, all saves were made on the same day with same version, earlier saves all load fine (around 12 years 6 months earlier in game time), but most recent 7 saves all load to entirely blank galaxy, no resources, fleets planets etc listed.

It wasn't! I also have other save files that still work, which I started before the one which I can no longer access. No message when I go to load the save, it goes through the load screen super fast then an empty galaxy pops up.
This pretty much has to be a bug, I seems to me. Do you still get it in a new galaxy started under 3.4.3 ?
No, I've had no issues with a game started entirely after the new patch.
The older game loaded correctly as well.

I have this issue this morning. Also had a similar issue a week ago where my save was reverted about 20 - 25 years. I guess no Ironman for right now.
This happened to me today. Ended up having to go back 38 years 
. All saves since then load almost instantly and are completely empty--no galaxy, no empire logo, etc. Started the game last night, no changes to my install since then.

Please see if this has been reported in the Bug Reports forum; if not please make a new thread there and attach save games showing the issue.
