Frustration abounds. I have patched my HOI up to 1.06c and it works fine no problems except when I try to load a game previously saved that used scenarios that I have made.

This happens for some (but not all) of the savegames that I have initiated after designing them with the scenario editor.

The screen just freezes at the loading stage, however I have loaded one game that used a new scenario without a problem.

Welcome to the forum. Modified scenarios are not officially supported. This will probably get moved to the mod forum. What did you change? I strongly recommend using a text editor instead of the HoI editor for most changes.

Thanks. I changed the resource settings for individual provinces for germany and named this as a scenario this started fine, it was only after a period of time (months/years?) that after it was saved, it wouldn't load again....

We do not and cannot, for obvious reasons, support user made mods.

no But... What he has described is using the scenario editor made by paradox to tweak a scenario not using an alternative 3rd party program made by the community.
If it is a problem with the scenario editor (made by paradox) shouldnt that be updated to match the current version as well ?
if not then after you have played out the scenarios that come with the game would not it then get boring or pointless to install updates that dont allow you to use edited scenarios using the Paradox sofware included ??

(new user wondering why a feature was included with a game if not to be supported by the developers or staff)

There have been other problems with loading saved games, I had them myself and if u look in the support forum there is a thread on it. I run vanilla HOI with 1.06c, first two games I started are unloadable now.

The scenario editor works but only within some limits which are not really documented. Note that NONE of the major mods use the scenario editor. The editor is supported to the extent that if you can't get it to run then Castellon will help you. Also if you are having trouble using some feature then you can get help. Once you have created a new "scenario" then you can't get support for that scenario.

This is probably one reason why there is no editor in Victoria and probably won't be one in future games (along with the fact that most modding is done by editing the text files directly anyway because the HoI editor can't edit everything).
