Saved games and patch application pbs

1st prob : playing Denmark, in 158*, i saved, to get out of the game, but it crashed. Reloading, i had no more access to my saved games. When clicking on one, i have a CTD.

So, i decided to reinstall the game.
1. I uninstalled EU2
2. Iinstall Eu2 back
3. I applied patch EU2from1.00to1.02
4. I wanted to install patch 1.02to1.03. But i can't. I got an error message at the end saying : Eu2.exe is not a valid version.
5. i tried again and got a different error message : text.csv is not a valid previous version so no upgrade.

And please, do not tell meto apply 1.04 Patch. I deliberately prefer 1.03 and not 1.04.

you will need to edit your save game, it is a bug with 1.03 (that's why I'll tell you to use 1.04 ).

I'm doing this from memory, so excuse me if I make any mistake

You need to search your save game file for the line that begins with "Selectable=" (it is on top of the file, maybe one page down) and delete every country tags except one (it can be the country you're playing or another one). Save the file, and load your game in EU2, it should now work.

OK 1st prob solved...

.....but i still have the second one. I can not upgrade to 1.03. When i did it the first time it was OK. Now i stay to 1.02 and cannot install 1.03. Why?

if you have the US version and made any kind of modification (like installing the EEP) it is quite possible that the patch won't install.

Check on top of this forum for the thread called "Running problems"; first item is a link (Uninstall) to a post that tells you how to completely remove EU2 from your system. Follow the instructions and reinstall it. I would suggest not applying any other patch/modification until 1.05 is out (it should be a few days, the Aussies already have it so...).
