I know there's a problem with some ID's and database mis-matches, but I've now experienced a different problem stopping my game from loading. It gets right through to initializing script but then just hangs and ctrl, alt, del shows that the game is not responding. I'e taken to saving regularly in two alternate files (I don't trust autosave) but neither file will now load. What am I doing wrong or is this a bug? Compared to other games these type of problems are a real drag (plus CTDs); I just hope they fix them with 1.04. By the way, do you have to have the CD in the drive whilst playing. The game seems to work without it but does it cause any issues and should you have it in the drive just in case? :(

CD in the drive would be a CP issue and that is up to the individual publishers of the game.

The following tips are proven ways to reduce problems and CTDs:
1) Rename the AVI folder to AVI_back
2) Set the color depth to 16BIT
3) Turn off everything in the background like E-mail/ICQ/Messenger, Virus protection and everything in the system tray beside the clock.

For your save games I would say it is too late to save that game. :(
The above will help to reduce the problem returning. If it is a problem that can be repeated, for example you do this then that and it will crash, or the game you are playing crashes on the same date everytime then report that in the Bug forum. They may want you to send them a copy of your save game file so they can check it out.
