ThThis is version 0.4 of The Scandinavia Mod, the premise of which is that the Scandinavian country controlled by the player (Sweden, Denmark, or Norway) suffers a coup on January 2, 1936, and the mission of the new government is to unite Scandinavia under one rule. The player temporarily gets the ability to declare war with 0 dissent penalty, and chooses the new government of their country (Stalinist, Leninist, Fascist, or National Socialist). Once the player annexes another Scandinavian country, they get it as national provinces, and once they annex all of them except Finland, they become Scandinavia.

1. Replace the Denmark.txt file in doomsday/db/events with the one I've provided (the one already in the directory has nothing in it)
2. (optional) open db/revolts.txt. Change the following entries:

Please note that version 0.2 fixed the save/reload bug.

Change log:

v0.1: Initial release

v0.2: Save/reload bug fixed. Now fully playable, various events added in v.0.2a and 0.2b

v0.3 Added a negotiated peace with the Soviet Union for the end of the war, and an event chain that could lead to the peaceful incorporation of Finland into Scandinavia. These will only fire for a PA, Fascist, or Nazi Scandinavia that helped Finland. Also added is a reward for helping Finland. Scandinavia gets $500 and blueprints for the '39 and '41 mountain infantry models.

v0.3a All new events added in v0.3 were rewritten, and v0.3a is bug-free. Also added was an event to repair Scandinavia's cores (they seemed to lose some upon becoming Scandinavia).

v0.3b The initial event now removes the non-aggression pacts, and a new event removes the GoIs. There is also no longer dissent for remaining democratic.

v.4 Various bugfixes. Interventionism moves for democratic Scandinavia. Winter War can end sooner by taking Moscow.

Edit: Aha! The command on line 31 should be:

Yes, but those things would have to be changed for it to work anyway. Also, I ran a test by commenting out everything except that first event, and while I don't think that the problem is line 31, the error is somewhere in that event.

No quotes were around the desc and name strings - this is corrected and the download will be updated.

Edit: Also, anywhere 'political left' appears in the code, it should be replaced by 'political_left'.

Edit: After these two operations are performed, there is some error message that I don't understand the meaning of. It can be ignored and the game will start, however.

I've been working on the event chains, and the Revolutionary Guard events now properly spawn units. However, that doesn't matter because they don't fire. The only one that does is the one that spawns 3 militia in Copenhagen, and that fired BEFORE the initial government event while I was testing as Sweden. Also, none of the event chains appear to work. The command that triggers the "More Government Choices" and "Revolutionary Guard" events don't appear to do anything. When I comment out the Revolutionary Guard event that fires early, no event is triggered.

I will update the download with the changes I have made, but more help is needed to produce a working beta version. So far only 1 person besides myself has even posted in this thread, so I'd like to request that more people help with this mod. Any input would be good.
 
To be honest, I doesn't know much about modding, and when I edit something, I look at what the computer have done....

- It says +100 Intervensionism (should be 10)

- Game crashes when I quit (not that important"

- "Militias Spawn Event" fire's even if you don't have fascism or communism. Also it fires at the same time (Should be one day later or something)

- "Militias Spawn Events" seems to miss some text

The Norway event is identical to all the others, so I will look into it, though I can't imagine why it doesn't fire. The error messages I asked about in another thread in the scenarios and modifications forum, the +100 interventionism doesn't matter so much though I will see what I can do about that. The game crashing happens to me even when I'm not using these events, so I don't think that has anything to do with this. I can't figure out why the militia spawn event fires early - the one that fires is supposed to only fire for Denmark, but it fires for everyone (even Com. China!), and it is otherwise identical to the ones that don't fire. The missing text is a mystery too, but I'll see what I can do.

Thank you for taking the time to test and report the bugs - now I know that the problems I've been having with it aren't just due to some problem with my computer or something like that.
 
Fixed the description bug on the Revolutionary Guard events.

Do you have the most recent download of the alpha version? I tested it as Norway and the first event fired just fine, and the Danish Revolutionary Guard event that always fires at the same time as the first event doesn't fire for Norway.

- The +100 Intervensionism (a issue about pride and quality)
- Computer never picks commie or fascist government... (Is it supposed to be that way?)

Denmark: - Much the same... All the events pop up at the same time... I think it will be solved if you make them fire different days....It's strange to be a NaziCommi...

The AI is set for 100% chance of not stepping down because the event is not supposed to fire for AIs, so that someone who is playing as a non-Scandinavian country can enjoy a reasonably historical game. I still can't figure out the +100 interventionism bug - the code says that it should only be +10, but I'm working on it. If you notice, only the communist Revolutionary Guard event fires - and it fires to spawn them in Copenhagen even if you're playing as Sweden. It is very strange, seeing as the event specifically says to only fire that event for Denmark, and something about it firing early is strange, since it has no trigger of its own and can only be fired by another event.

I still can't figure out the unit ID error message... but I think it has something to do with that Revolutionary Guard event and that if I can solve its problem then I solve both problems.

Look closer... Sweden get's three militias to it's deploying pool.... I got a feeling of that it is this three guys who fucks up your unit ID's... Three Errors, three militias...

EDIT: I actually used this militias gainst Norway in a test game, so I'm sure they exist

How about that... I started up as Sweden and they appeared! Why didn't I notice that before?

Since you've played as far as fighting against the Norwegians, does the event that gives you Norway as national provinces fire properly, or was that the Norway event that you referred to earlier (I thought you were referring to the event that fires on January 2)?
