Hi, I'm a Newbie and maybe old and stupid but I've looked at the manual, done a search on the Message Forums and looked at the two, otherwise excellent, FAQs.
I haven't been able to find anywhere a writeup of all the options you can set (or not) at the beginning of scenarios and what they each mean.
Is it already written up somewhere? Or can someone help.

Thanks,
Baker of Pudding Lane

Thanks Dark Knight, I suppose I've resolved the main problem which was the Base Victory Points option.
I'd just requested The Grand Campaign and specified running through to 1792 with Victory Points. I didn't change the Base Victory Points option to Yes as I thought it must mean default VPs that were assigned at the beginning to weaker countries to make it more even.
Afyer playing the scenario for a while I realised that no VPs were being assigned anywhere (France had just thrashed my stronger (in numbers) fleet several times and I'd lost Calais and sued for peace but neither France or England had any VPs.
I realise now that Base does not mean "a value to start from" rather it means "your country's" Victory Points.
Is that correct?

Also does Dynamic Missions if Yes mean that Missions will be assigned to you if you don't have any yourself?

Later...
Have just found a French site http://perso.club-internet.fr/jpduflot/EU/EU_description_01.htm#Option that explains Base Victory Points clearly. It also appears to say (my French is not that good) that unless Dynamic Missions is set on you don't get VPs for them?

Yes, if you want victory points to be tracked then you need to have "Base Victory Points" set to ON.

If Dynamic Missions is on then you will automatically be given missions if you do not select them for yourself (you only have about 1 month to do so after the last mission is completed). This also gives AI nations missions. However, since the missions aren't very well designed (tending to be either very easy or very difficult) I and many other people play with this option turned off (this allows you to still pick missions if you choose, although I don't).
