One by one the governments of China Japan and South-East Asia began to fall victim to a radical and violent spiritual movement called 'Obliteration of the Self'. When the global war spread to Asia the newly formed governments unified to stay alive into what is now called 'Eastasia' in Newspeak. Hampered by its territorial inadequacy it must struggle to stay in existance in this eternal struggle. Can Eastasia's huge poputaion bring it to victory? Will its indominatable will ultimately triumph? Only time will tell.

Run from an all-pervasive government in 'Airstrip One' which was once Britain the state rules with an iron fist over every aspect of civilian lives. The goal of the privaliged beings who run the superpower is not to win the ongoing war with either Eurasia or Eastasia, but to simply keep control. Now Eurasia is intensifying attacks and vastly increasing troops deplyments in Africa. Will the terrifying dictatorship of Oceania survive the coming years of war? Or will the proletarian masses revolt and seek to overthrow the totalitarian government?
