Scenarios not visible in list

I've just finished running through the tutorials on a new install of HOI2. I went to single player and I see nothing in the scenario list on the left hand side!

It works fine on my other machine but not this particular laptop strangely. I've even done a complete uninstall/cleanup and reinstall and the scenarios are still not visible, this is the same with the base release and patch 1.2

Any ideas what could be causing my scenarios list to be empty??

Do you have any mods installed, or have you edited any files yourself?

I've modified nothing at all. This is a fresh install.

Is there anything in your Hearts of Iron 2\scenarios folder? There should be a bunch of .eug files and folders with similar names. If you don't have these then your game is not installed correctly. The names in the .eug files (or in text.csv pointed to in the .eug files) are what show up in the scenario list.
