Normally, I'd agree, but I stand by the GM and believe it is his prerogative.

Of course you do.

I have changed my mind though, not only do I not like it, I think it is one of the worst things a GM can do to a game. Why would you deny the wolves the chance to discuss the first hunt or deny the seer his first scan? Just to get your rocks off by posting the first update as soon as possible? Horrible. I would immediately sub out of any game that did that, it goes against the spirit of the game. I would also never join game if I knew there was a chance the GM would pull a stunt like that.

If making incorrect assumptions makes you feel better, who am I to stop you.

Then you should be lynched every time you use it, for such a strategy is not beneficial for the village no matter what your role. If your a wolf it's harder to tell, and if you're a villager, you're less useful.

I'm fine with having a little less villager cred, really. As a villager getting villager cred is *easy* for me. Too easy. "will be hunted 5 seconds from now" easy.
Besides, when I'm trying to play like a baddie I'm probably still easier to read than jonti is, and possibly still more useful to the village, too. It's not like I'm reducing myself to just a single two-word post each day, even when I'm actually evil.

Think of it as 'attempting to strike a balance' if that makes you feel better about it. Because that's what it is, really.

I would've tried, but I got lynched accidentally while I was away from the computer my first day after subbing in.

Sorry about that. As marty said, however: It had to be done.

Not so. Update would have happened with or without a seer scan.

Perhaps you should mention that somewhere next time.
A simple notification that the seer scan might go out with a delay if the seer hasn't read his role PM is enough.

If making incorrect assumptions makes you feel better, who am I to stop you.

.. because you're not going to deny the seer his scan or the wolves an opportunity to discuss the hunt?

The latter bit does make it end up a bit on the dodgy side though, since if not everyone has checked into the game yet when the night 0 update goes out it may make it easier to figure out who the wolves are simply based on 'who has posted yet?' meta.
Then again - wolves can just PM without checking into the thread, too .. *shrug*

I would never deny the pack sufficient time to discuss at length the always important first night hunt. That is something I will not do.
