And it looks like the vast, overwhelming opinion favors Fascist France... I'm thinking that France, war wearied and exhausted from WWI, goes on an ultra-radicalist streak. With Hitler fostering radical nationalism next door in Germany, the French are hungry for a restoration of their own glory... France bails on the Allies, starts doing its own thing, and eventually sets itself up as a rival against Germany for control of Europe.

No, Germany as it is is still a far greater threat than a communist or democratic one would be.
