Screen blinks

Has anybody else seen a problem with the screen blinking intermittently? I didn't see any mention of this in any of the forums, basically the screen goes black for half a second and then restores instantly. I've not seen this behaviour using any other apps or games.

Setup is EU2 1.04 UK, Windows 2000 SP2, nVidia MX400 64MB card (latest drivers and DirectX 8.1). Reinstalling drivers did not resolve it. There's no change in the monitor LED to indicate powersaving state or such.

I'm about to start experimenting with driver settings (like vsynch) but would appreciate any pointers if this has been seen before.

someone had the problem and it was related to his network card. Upon changing his card, everything worked fine.

Okay, thanks. FWIW I changed the VSYNCH setting (to disable) and it ran without blinking for half an hour, so it seems that was effective.

I've experienced the same problem on occasion. Not very often though. Just chiming in. I can't recall the exact circumstances. It is ESPECIALLY bad when the game is first started up, then it always goes 100% away. I do recall once that it persisted into the game, though . . . and didn't go away until I restarted it.
