I see that some people in the past had a similar problem, but I was not able to find a solution. So I tried running DH on my Lenovo laptop, and although the game works fine with only rare CTD, I was not able to change resolution at all. No matter what I try the resolution stays the same, and if I try running in windowed mode the game crashes upon launching.
So here is what I tried so far.
1.I changed the compatibility of darkesthour.exe to windows 7
2.I tried changing the color mode to 16 bit
3.I tried running as admin
4.I tried ticking disable full screen optimization
5.I used settings.cfg to change the resolution
6.When I used windowed mode, regardless of other settings the game always crashed.
I use a Lenovo laptop but I connected it to another screen which uses 1440x900 as native. I have some integrated Intel graphic card. This is so frustrating, why doesn't the game react to resolution change?

EDIT: Never mind. It seems that the game was not responding to resolution changes, until I actually start a game where I can see the map, that's where resolution does change. Weird that the opening screen does not change at all.
