:D

in addition to that i have to say that the screen shows ALL Princes/Dukes as - Dukes.

Maybe it would be a good idea this menu screen to show the Ruler's name too? After all its all about playing dynasites right ;)

More or less WAD.

EDIT: What Scenario selection screen shows your ruler to look like has no effect on game itself. Also adding names to it would require new code, for rather marginal improvement.

ugh then this screen is not needed at all - it shows wrong ruler image, wrong titles (if orthodox) and no ruler name.

It shows all important information:

1) Titles held, so you can find who you played last time. Showing orthodox princes as dukes doesn't usually fool any player to pick wrong.
2) Location in map, helps finding out where they are, if you are starting a new game.

Appearance is bonus and it's correct most of the time.

Name would be nice, but imo it's so marginal improvement for something that requires altogether new code, that it's rather CK2 wishlist stuff.

or maybe finishing touches of the very last CK patch 1.07-1.08 who knows :p

1) yup it doesnt fool me cuz ive been playing the game since its release x) but
newbies and no history drawn guys..

2) actually location on map is rather funny explanation see how thiere is an Uber zoom to the 2-3 demense provinces you have - If the map was viewed from a far more distant perspective itd really be usefeul.

not once i have started a game with random country just to have a much better look on the map and choose which exactly duchy/county i want to play :)

yes im sure that this bug is due to the fact that CUMAN is defined with cuman culture in the config files. :)

oh i wanted to ask about that - i saw that the REBELs have latin culture - does this have any effect? and shouldnt it be occitan? because i saw in one other config file - latin instead of occitan :)

Latin = Tag
Occitan = How it shows up in game

Just like

Muslim = Tag
Arab = How it shows up in game

This difference is usually relevant only if you edit scenarios or script events.

I noticed that the Sheikhdom of Almansa in my game had a coat of arms like the Catholic countries rather than a circular one like the muslim countries. At the time, the sheikhdom was led by a Polish muslim. Is this a bug or is the shape of the coat of arms intended to be controlled by culture rather than religion?

The shape sometimes depends on culture. IIRC, Pagans/Muslims with a "Christian" culture will have Christian CoAs.

For catholics, it's always a shield. For pagans and muslims, it depends on culture. Light (potrait) cultures use shields while dark cultures use roundels.
