So different seasons affect your city in different ways, in winter cars can’t go as fast due to ice, you also get less produce from agriculture industry’s and more in the summer ext.
This would be nice, however CO already said that they were thinking about it, but they ran into technical difficulties. At least we have Snowfall DLC which is something.

Yes, we did try to make seasons but the development has multiple issues why it will not happen for Cities: Skylines I'm afraid.
It has been over 2 years since Snowfall was released. I was wondering if there has been any change in the possibly of adding changing season to the game, rather than specific maps for seasons? Or is this just something that will simply never...

We looked into adding the changing seasons at it comes down to technical difficulties, earlier design (timescale etc), performances and also time and scope. Therefore we did the best we could with Snowfall and unfortunately there's no chance we'll get changing seasons for Cities: Skylines I'm afraid.
I do agree that this is something that we'll take into account in future games we should develop, as seasons do bring so much to the gameplay.
