Now why would you go and say that? I'm just going to sit in a corner and eat my crayons.
It's a common point about why the allies won and the axis lost.

The German proponents always say that the Germans were superior and the Allies only won because they had more of everything. The reality was that the allies were superior because they ensured they had more of everything to support their soldiers and marines.

Pfft, the only weapon that matters to the US Navy is a fully trained US Marine.

Or rather, the lobbying power to ensure all the money doesn't go to the dirtsuckers and flyboys.

So?

Is he some sort of authority we should bow to?

Skimming though the video, and reading his descriptions, he does not even bother with sources.

If you link me a video, at least give me a rundown, so I dont waste my time.

USS Eldridge photographed during the WWII.

Usually, while talking about "miracle weapons" - the edge breaking technology in the WWII - which might give an advantage over the enemy, weapons so powerful, which might even change the course of the war - of course, these super weapons are highly affiliated to Nazi-Germany and its numerous Wunderwaffe projects. Probably the most utopian Nazi-project was the purported, top-secret device - die Glocke. Its operational capabilities and performance is alleged to have been possible as the device used anti-gravity and free energy. However, it's also sometimes claimed, during the WWII, the US Navy had a similar project based on this same science and theory.

Philadelphia Experiment is an alleged military experiment supposed to have been carried out by the US Navy in Philadelphia Naval Shipyard in late 1943. The claim has, the US Navy experiment was implemented as the Americans researched and studied a technology to make ships invisible or cloaked to radar and to other enemy devices. Destroyer escort, USS Eldrige was used in this alleged experiment.

The experiment is said to be based on theories created by Nikola Tesla, but maybe rather on unified field theory, by Albert Einstein in which electromagnetism and gravity unite their respective fields into a single shield. (I will not go deeper into this theory), but the US Navy regarded the concept and considered there might be potential for military use and allegedly sponsored the Philadelphia Experiment. A simply description, how this stealth technology was assumed to work - electrical generators bend light around an object via refraction which makes the object invisible.

According to most accounts supporting this supposed experiment, USS Eldridge was equipped with the required technology in Philadelphia Naval Shipyard and the testing began in summer 1943. According to eye-witnesses, it's rumored that this testing resulted limited success - in one test greenish fog appeared in USS Eldridge's position, making the ship nearly invisible, or making it to disappear. It's also rumored, while the ship reappeared, the crew suffered of nausea and they ended up different places from where they had began the test.

However, the most ferocious event is alleged to take place on October 28th, 1943. This time Eldridge not just became invisible or just disappeared, but it teleported over 200 miles to Norfolk, Virginia. It's claimed, Eldridge teleported near to SS Andrew Furuseth and there it sat in the view of Furuseth's crew. Soon Eldridge again vanished now reappearing in Philadelphia at its original position. It is said, Eldridge's crew went totally "bananas", some materialized inside-out, some just disappeared.

And, of course, it's said, the crew was brainwashed afterwards to maintain secrecy of the experiment. And, of course, the US Navy maintains, such a nonsense never happened, as only a madman considers it's possible while understanding the laws of physics.

But what do you think?
;););)
Both are obvious hoaxes. There's nothing else to say. For example the Eldridge has been conclusively shown to have been on shakedown in the Bahamas when the alleged incident took place, thousands of miles away from Philadelphia.

To be honest, the rundown would include a lot of your own objections. Mark Felton is generally a good historical source (PhD in history and author of 20 books), and points out the very late origins of the theory in written form and the lack of any other evidence short of vague mentions. The only "source" is the previously-mentioned book from 2000, and otherwise a variety of theoretical hintings (i.e. a translated French book called "Le Matin des Magiciens" which is a rather hyperbolic source talking about Di Glocke, as well as Occultism and Nazi "UFOs") and a lot of what are implied to be conspiracy theories or UFO theories. Most of the sources are hypothetical, and the video ends up spending most of its time breaking down the logic and likelihood of their accuracy (as well as the basic issues with the perspective in the first place).

Its an interesting video, but it seems implied that it is mostly a professional and tactful response to either fan or patreon (crowdsourced funding) requests on the subject to simultaneously give an in-depth response without slapping the fan in the face about the subject, ultimately pointing out the lack of any substantive or logical evidence for it as a real project. To sum it up, its 14 minutes of why the theory doesn't make sense.

Then again, maybe the best rundown would simply be to quote him directly (10:30-10:40):
"And this leads to the most overwhelmingly obvious question of all: if Hitler had UFOs and anti-gravity flying machines, how the hell did he lose the war?"

Fair enough.

My only quip here would be that, especially after looking up his bibliography, writing 20 books on diverse subjects in less than that many years is not an achievement, it is a red flag, at least in academia.

The main difference between Germany and the US after ww2 is that the Americans won, had an enormous quantity of resources avalaible and maybe some of the most brilliant cientists of their generation. They not had any reason to stop making these experiments if real.

Also the Wikipedia article on the Philadelphia Experiment debunks it.

I would just like to know, who is the crazy Lindybeige?

And who said, the Americans stopped making these experiments after the WWII?

The Americans performed a vast array of secret experiments after the war. Some moral, some not. But teleporting a DD through interdemensional space is not one of them.

Mark Felton also generally fails to do much in the way of research or check his sources. He posted a video a few years ago now that basically repeated verbatim a few articles on pop history sites on a mythical German tank ace at Kursk knocking out more T-34s than were in the area at the time.

His video on the storming of the Reichstag is also just a listing of the German personalities present with a vague mention that there were some Soviets involved.

Publishing books and having a phd is no guarantee of quality, especially when he is a youtube personality with a large following now. Anything he tries to publish now will get printed no matter the quality because his books are a guaranteed sell.

As for the story of the USS Philadelphia, as ever, people would rather have fantasy than facts.
