Hello there,

I've often some issue happening in 10vs10 games and maybe others may relate. What's happening is my PC can handle 10vs10 games with no prob but definitely canno't handle too many people leaving in these large games with AI takeovers (i guess starting in a number between 5 or 10 people leaving out of 20 which is not that rare).
When it does happen and i reach a critical amount I start to lag out like crazy with the amount of AI spam happening and in no time the server is disconnecting me telling me my PC is not fast enough to play (which btw causes maybe more players to disconnect in a chain reaction...).

So yes i know there is a proper way to fix it which is to get a better rig but i play mostly on my laptop with a 970m and have no lag issues if not in this particular situation.
So my question is this, what setting do i have to reduce in priority to avoid these disconnections ? Visual effects but which ones ? TSAA ? I doubt it's some CPU issue but i don't know. What's involved in game part/server part which leads to this kind of disconnection ? What would you advise to do ?
I'm maxed out and i would like to reduce the appropriate setting without losing too much pleasure of playing.

Thank you,

I used to have exactly same issue around the time when we had servers dying issue. Was that August? September? Don't remember.

I have a quite decent rig around GTX980Ti and am able to play the game maxed out @ constant 60 fps. Then suddenly around August I couldn't finish any larger 4v4 or 10v10 cos in the mid the game would kick me out telling me my PC is not good enough to play. It frustrated me to the point I have stopped playing for around 2 months. Tried turning down the settings down to medium/low but it didn't help, so my guess is that this isn't really vga issue. I did make a forum thread with replays attached, but no one from Eug was able to help me back then.

When I came back to the game in December the issue was gone and I can play the game normally again. (I didn't change anything with my hardware/software over that period)

Conversely speaking numbers of people quitting from game might not be rage quits at all...

Yep I'm pretty sure part of people leaving 10vs10 have rig issues like this.
Thanks for your input, i'm not sure myself it's vga issue. There is no reason.
Did you change anything about heath reduction in your rig ? Or just moved it ?

What i can say though is it does really happen after a lot of disconnections and spam of AI units all over the place. And i can feel when i will disconnect, orders are not immediate anymore. Was it the same for you ?
It's like the server is throwing away slower people of the curve to get back bandwiths for others.

The last I have made a clean install was exactly last year. I haven't changed/updated anything since and am still running same vga drivers from March last year (too lazy to update)

In Aug this happened and it actually stopped me from playing https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/index.php?threads/the-lag.1037720/#post-23136135

Then, since December I have crashed only once because I alt-tabbed accidentally and couldn't go back. So it must have been them to change something...
