Greetings,

I'm a Arch Linux user and I am currently not able to start the Paradox Launcher of Imperator: Rome. When starting it I can see following error message in dmesg:

Paradox Launche[3020]: segfault at 10 ip 00007f88b572edc4 sp 00007ffe768b6aa8 error 4 in libpthread-2.30.so[7f88b572a000+10000]

Anyone knows about this problem? Or even a solution?

Thank you!

Sorry for the late reply, I had a super busy week.
Yes, this helped. To be exact: It was the missing steam_appid.txt file as mentioned here:
Edit: Apparently I am not allowed to link postings. The solution is in the thread linked by AndrewT comment #6

Did the launch in post #12 of that thread not help with that? It should have.

And yes, you have access to the Bug Reports forum just like you do this one.

Hope my solution might be useful.
My system is OpenSUSE Tumbleweed.

Symptoms:
* Game does not launch from Steam
* Can be launched from console as suggested above

Solution that worked:
1. Open game properties
2. Choose option [Force the use of a specific Steam Play compatibility tool] and choose Proton 4.11-7
Steam downloads necessary components and works fine.
