Results
Senators, there are equally strong factions proposing to focus on Cement respectively Physical Exercise. Although I admit that it is important to keep the people of Rome content, we should improve the physical abilities of our soldiers, since the fate of the Republic rests on the shoulders of our Legions.

After some preparations, the Legions III and IV under Lucius Papirius Cursor began the attack on the city of Genoa, where the main force of the Liguri under the command of Chief Semorix was waiting for them. The Legion did split, so they could attack the settlement from four directions.
It was a long and fierce battle, with two cohorts of Hastati being almost eliminated, but in the end the moral of the enemy broke and the battle turned into a slaughter with mercy shown to nobody. More than 2.000 enemies lay dead on the battlefield, but also 700 Romans did not survive the day.
The Republic grew once more and with this additional territory the administrative costs and problems like corruption became a bit more important. On the other hand the Republic was now able to raise more Legions.
At home, reforms to increase the physical fitness of all soldiers were finished and they became more motivated due to that.
In the south, Syracuse had a major success versus Carthage, when it occupied Lilybaion and controlled all of Sicily. In the northeast, the Veneti conquered Iader and eliminated the Dalmatae.

Congratulations on your successes against the Genoese barbarians in the north. I believe the next logical step is to take over the Insubri and Veneti tribes in order to secure all of the Cisalpina region for the glorious Roman Republic. Long live Rome!

Senators, here the results of this session.
A. Technology
You voted unanimously to research Iron Tools.
B. Diplomatic Relations
You also decided, that the Republic should strife for trade relations with the Cessetani and Volcae.
C. Family Issues
The opinions concerning Amatia Tuberta were, that something needed to be done about her lifestyle, but the vote concerning the concrete solution was split. Since there are currently no vacant positions in the college of Vestals, it would serve the Republic best to get her married.

The preparations for further attacks in the north were finished, when the Republic faced a threat in the northeast. The remnants of the Dalmatae, being forced out of their homes by the Veneti, had begun to harass the people along the Roman coast around Ariminum. The Republic decided, that it was about time to raise a second fleet and M. Aurelius Tubero was appointed as commander.
After a short battle, the Dalmatae were defeated and their ships sunk. 250 enemies were slain and another 50 captured and enslaved, while the Romans only lost 8 soldiers. With that distraction out of the way, it was time to focus on the city of Medhlan.
It was not easy to find a husband for Amatia Tuberta, but eventually she married Gnaeus Sempronius Geminus. But the marriage did not work out fine. Her husband being older and physically not in best shape, Amatia continued her former lifestyle, increasing the shame on the family`s honor and resulting in a decent loss of political support.

Iron Tools begin to spread in the agricultural sector. Hence a new technology needs to be chosen.
B. Commander in waiting
M. Aurelius Tubero was appointed as commander of the Classis II Ravennas. So one of the three candidates needs to be chosen as commander in waiting.

Immediately after the last Senate session the attack on Medhlan began. Lucius Papirius Cursor was in charge of the Legio III and IV. Nevertheless it was a hard battle with more than one thousand casualties among the Romans, before roughly 2.500 Insubri were slain and the regional capital was won.
But there was not much time to waste, since Tiberius Caesetius Pulvillus was eager to subdue the rest of Cisalpina. This year he led the attack on Patavium. The Veneti were surprised to see a large army of a so far friendly trade partner approaching their city. 2.700 of them died in the following battle, while another 900 Romans fell in order to expand the Republic.
The Republic. With Cisalpina and Italia it controlled to full regions. But this new power was dearly bought. Cisalpina was about to encounter a large revolt. The public order in Italia and Magna Graecia was close to rebellion too, mainly due to the low prestige of the Julii faction.
In Rome political intrigues were necessary in order to secure promotions for Lucius Julius Libo and Tiberius Caesetius Pulvillus. These measures stabilized the influence of the Julii again and would maybe bring back order to the Republic, but in the near future Rome would face serious problems with public disorder at home and new hostile neighbors in the north.
Senate Session IX
Senators, despite the recent victories in the north, there are several issues which need to be discussed:
A. War in the North
In order to subdue Cisalpina, we had to declare war on the Veneti. Although Patavium was captured, the Veneti still hold Iader in Illyria. Please decide, how to proceed in this war.
B. Diplomatic Relations
With Cisalpina being conquered, we made contact with several tribes north of the Alpes. Please decide our diplomatic stance toward:
1. Breuci
2. Helveti
3. Norici
4. Raeti
C. Future Strategy
Cisalpina is Roman and so the orders of the Senate have been executed. It is time to decide, where future expansions of the Republic are supposed to take place.
