The devs have said in several places that they're not looking to do more "small" games like Sengoku or March of the Eagles, so you might be in for a long wait. But there's a really great CK2 mod set in Japan that should scratch the itch.
On the other hand, I think Shams said recently that Paradox is interested in the idea of releasing a new GSG every year, or even every 9 months. If they end up doing this, I think they will need to add a couple of major GSGs to their lineup, which I am guessing could include bringing back some of the old favorites.
