I wasn't paying close attention when one of my Portuguese explorers passed away. I mistakenly grabbed the wrong fleet - which was led by a similarly named but still living explorer - and combined it with another explorer's fleet. When I realized my mistake I tried to separate the two explorers. No way. Usually the 'Split' button will split a fleet into two fleets and give each a leader if there is more than one already there. In this case the 'Split' button is greyed out. Any thoughts on how I get out of my predicament?

I've also seem this probem if you have a low odd number of ships, the program grey's out the split option - try additing one more to any odd number of ship type that you have. It worked for me.

Thanks for the advice. That in fact did it. I added 4 ships to the 6 to create a new fleet of 10 ships which I was now able to split. :)

I find this a little cumbersome though. What would have happened if I had not had the extra ships in the area of India? It would have been frustrating to have had to send ships all the way from Portugal, just to separate the leaders.
