Apparently its subscriptions are still steadily increasing. Not to mention it's graphics are easy to upgrade over the years.People still play EVE?
I suspect he's playing the straight man, and his humor is just dry. There is practically zero chance he took the original post seriously. I mean, even the first line of the title gives it away, seriously!Love the post, but it looks like Leeeeeeeeeeeemont Ellllllllllllwood failed to read the whole post.
The thread is a gigantic joke, no one here is being serious.I was all for the NATO counters for HOI but this...
There's a thing called "context".
Well, in the context of a WW2 wargame counters are mandatory. Both for immersion and psychological reasons.
In the context of a sci-fi game of an ipothetical future, well, simply not. In a WW2 game I know what a counter represents. But in a sci-fi game I can't so I like to look at what I'm actually moving/commanding.
I've been playing Stars ! and similia as anyone else but if we've now the chance to actually see our ships, why not ?
I like counters more in a WW2 game for immersion's sake and for the same reason I like actual models in a schi-fi game.

I didn't at first but now they are stuck in my head. It is so easy to learn and doesn't take any time at all. They are so simple that a small child would also be able to learn what all the NATO counters mean.So everyone whom plays hearts of Iron knows what all the counter symbols are?
