I had to uninstall both the vanilla versoin of HOI2 and the Stony Road mode. I carefully removed all traces of HOI2 and the Stony Rd mode from my computer. I edited the registry and there is no reference to Paradox Entertainment or Hearts Of Iron. I did a search from MY Computer and found nothing. I even emptied the Recycle Bin and rebooted. I attempted to re-install HOI2 and no matter what I did, clicking on the Install portion of the opening screen onlt brought me to the "repair/uninstall " wizrd. What am I doing wrong?

Did you follow ALL the instructions in the sticky thread titled "How to Manually Uninstall HOI2"

No I did not. I reviewed them, followed them to the letter and successfully re-installed. However, I do need to ask this question: I've been playing computer games since 1992 and never have had anywhere near the trouble I've had removing Paradox games and then reinstalling them. My question ,and I meant this with more curiosity than disrespect: WHY can't these games be designed to be ininstalled COMPLETELY by the Add/Remove section of the Control Panels in Windows. After all, we're talking about a strategy game here- not deep, dark national secrets!!!!!!!!!!!

They 99.9% have no problem being uninstalled using the uninstall that comes with them.
Never used the uninstall from windows so I can't give you a percentage on that one. But why would you use a generic windows program when you get a specific one for the game provided with it?

Also you had a user made mod installed, so really you need to complain to them not us, if that fubared your uninstall.

You win. I'm a jackass, and you're God. Happy now?

If you said that with a smile on your face then that is fine, If you are upset, that was not my intent, I just wanted to explain why you may have experianced a problem.
