(I have searched the forums but not found any answers)

Can't you change the volume with a mixer or another program outside EU ?

BTW, you are registered November 2001. According to my clock it is still October 2001. You are a ghost from the future :D

Very weird. You get all kind of paradoxes, people ansering messages, that aren't posted yet. And poor Patric, master of Paradox, struggling to get back to the right timeline.:D

I think he has given in to the technical superiority of the software already :D He will never understand the full clock mechanics of VBulletin :)

My problem is that I want to play music AND play EU, with a mixer u change music/game volume at the same time so it doesnt work.

I mean can you guys change the volume in-game?

really...

Am I alone with this one....

a simple yes or no would do.....

Maybe :D

When you play the game and press F10, there is a choice options. After that you can choose SFX-volume, which shows a slider from 0 to 100. I write maybe, because I never tried it, so I don't know if it works properly.

I have tried the F10-options-sfxvolume thing, its just that whichever volume you set(0-100) it still plays volume at 100!.

This question has been asked before on this forum so I know there are at least 1 or 2 people with the same problem. All I really need to sleep well is that someone just tell me that their volume slider works, because then I know it is somewhere my fault and i can fix it.

so here goes...
:)

Can anyone change the in-game sfxvolume and it actually works?

(I wont go away until i know :p )

How this "feature" is not on any FAQ or any patch is just beyond me.

I think most people play without music. I noticed during the test, that the music is too loud for the soundeffects. You can't barely hear things like colonisation succeeded, or the harp of a random event.

So, this is just a problem, not a fixable one?

I too have a problem with the sounds, but not the music.

I was pfutzin' with the directory trying to play with that neat-o screen-dump and finding where the save files are stored, when I discovered sound files, sound files for all mannerof things, like troops marching, guns and cannot firing and realised the shocking truth: the game WASN'T meant to be silent.

Well, I just assumed...

I've played with the sounds volume in the past, and nothing "sounds" regardless of volume, with the music playing or not.

Is this the same for you, Gobs?

Anyone got any bright ideas? :(

Have you checked directX ? Somewhere there is a directX-directory with a diagnose-programm in it. With that program you can check whether directX-sound is OK.
