Tahmasp led the Persians to yet two another succesfull wars against the Turks. Two wars witch he gained Aleppo, Jordan, Alexandria and Egypt in, before he passed away one autumn morning.

His son Ismail II, came to power. Ismail was a rutheless ruler, paranoid and probably mental sick. He started an extermination campaign among Persias nobles, cause he believed them to be against him, he forced the people to pay higher taxes to fund his life of luxury and he forced ulamas in the mosques through out Persia to proclaim him, Ismail II, as the returned Ali, send by Allah. All of this did of course result in uprisings, enormous uprisings (18% revoltrisk). The people wasnt happy, nor was Yoghurt.

Ismail II had refused to listen to Yoghurts advises and even almost got him arrested once. If Ismail was allowed to continue to rule Persia nothing good could come out of that. Even now large part of the nation was in uprising, rebell armies controlled several provinces of Persia. Although Ismail II had some faithull troops left, the costs these civil rising had had on Persia was enourmous and even if Ismail would be able to fight the rebells, it would take time to fight them all.... and what would happen if the Turks attacked when Persia was in this condition...

With this toughts Yoghurt contacted one of the higher nobels, one who almost had been killed, beacuse of Ismails paranoia and was now hiding in the mountains, surrounding Isfahan. It was Muhammad Khadabanda. Togheter the two men planned how to get rid of Ismail and restore order to Persia. Muhammad who once had been a General had still some faithfull troops under his command.

Yoghurt and Muhammad Khadabanda bid their time, while the civil risings savaged Persia, until that day, when they heard rumours of that Ismail was going for a hunting trip, right outside Isfahan. As ususal he would be protected by a large amounts of guards, but if the timing was right and if they would have the event of surprise to their advantage it would perhaps succed...

Testing with white back ground perhaps the pic gets a little more clear...

Also this last guy, Ismail II, had an event connected to him... civil uprisings with threw Persia into chaos. I came up with the story that he was mad and that I, as the Shahs advisor tried to make contact with another ruler, more fit to rule. In other words I just waited until the storm would pass and waited for the guy who comes after Ismail II, hoping he doesnt had such an event connected to him :)

Thanks for the pic links, some nice ones there;)
Amd as for the picture with the with background, yes it gets clearer, but on the oher side not that detailed.:( :(
But the with one is the best;)

It did succed. Muhammads troops ambushed Ismail. Ismail was killed by an arrow, shoot by Muhammad himself and as soon Ismails troops saw that their Master was dead the surrended and promised to follow Muhammad instead. Muhammad Khadabanda soon entered Isfahan itself and was crowned Shah of Persia. As soon as these news reached the country side and the people, the unrest began to lose power. Although those rebell armies who already had been raised was still on the move, but soon Muhammad was able to defeat them aswell.

Muhammed saw what the rebellions had done to Persia and there fore he tried to avoid any future rebellions. By sending caravans of merchants and to found trade ports on the coast of Africa he also tried to bring more gold and wealth to Persia. Muhammed was also a popular Shah and he never had to fight another rebellion during his short reign. Although, when Muhammed died and Hamra Mirza, came to power instead, the rebellions started again. Hamra Mirza did how ever have the advantage of that Muhammed had positioned troops at strategical places during his reign, so the rebellions never came out of totaly controll, instead they where the rebells where defeated rather quikly. Also Hamra Mirza had a very short reign and was succeded by Abu Talib, who also had to fight the rebellions. Although Abu Talib managed to keep Persia togheter, no conquests like the ones commited during the reigns of Ismail I and Tahmasp was possible. Abu Talib did how ever thank Allah that the Turks didnt take advantage of Persia during these troublesome years, something they easily could have done. Abu Talib on his behalf was inherited by Abbas I...

Abbas I was a very talented man, perhaps the most skilled Persia has had since Persias golden age during the ancient times. He was not only popular among the people and within the army. He also proved to posses great intelligence. Yoghurt enjoyed his talks to Abbas. Both of them become good friends and there where many times when the servants could find them, sitting in the palace garden playing chess or discussing astronomi.

One of Abbas major issues was to rebuild the army, so it once again could match the forces of the Turks. This was done by directing all incomes to the Shahs coffein, nothing was left to improve neither the infrastructure nor anything else. It did how ever pay off. In its sixth year as a Shah Abbas I, assisted by the Serbs, declared war upon the Turks. As so many times before, the Turks focused on Serbia, making Abbas conquest rather easy. Abbas himself led the Persian forces in Egypt as one of his Generals, Farhad Khan led the Persians campaign in Minor Asia. The war was a great succes, for Persia. Serbia on its behalf became totaly and utterly defeated and annexed by the Turks, but by then Abbas had conquered so much territory so that the Sultan offered him a peace, a peace witch granted Sinai, Angora and Nubia to Persia. It was a great day for Persia and for Abbas aswell.

After the destruction of Serbia, Persia was in need of a new ally. Abbas found what he looked for in Venice. Major sums was spend on gifts to the Doge of Venice until that day when Venice let Persia be apart of there alliance...

Venice was the leader of a powerfull alliance, consisting of not only Persia but Hungary, Tuscany and France as well, so it would probably become a very useful tool against the Turks. If this would work, how ever, Abbas needed to rally more support among the other members aswell, so he sended precius gifts to the Hungarian King, at the same time as he was building up the forces.

Then they day comed and Abbas ordered 200.000 brave souls to begin marsching against Turkey. As predicted, Venice and Hungary was eager to fall the Turks in the back and just as in the case with the Serbs, the Turkish Sultan seemed to directing his forces to fight in the West rather then in the East, against Abbas and his forces. Turkey wasnt without allies either, among them was the Emir of Tunis. As the Turks seemed to have forgotten its Eastern provinces it was insted against the forces of Tunis the Persians had to fight in Egypt. On the other side of the Mediterannian, in Minor Asia, Abbas himself pushed forward, conquering one province by another, slowly narrow down the distant to Istanbul itself.

From the West reports came in that Venice and Hungary was rather succesfull, although they had been denied any claims on Turkey they still had defeated several Turkishs armies. Abbas laught when the Turksih Sultan send one peace offering after another and keept pushing his forces forward, until that day when he standed outside the walls of Istanbul itself...

I thought maybe you were plotting to have the rebels succeed in overthrowing the government (and was wondering how you could bring that about)

The rebellions was just pure old fashioned rebellions caused of bad events that was connected to these monarchs. What I made was just to come up with a story involving rebells and quick shift of powers. The rebellions started with Ismail II, so I just proclaimed him to be mad and hated by the people so that they would have something real to complain about... :)

The siege of Istanbul wasnt as extraordinary as one would think, it fell like many other cities had felled before in the war. Abbas was himself present, directing the artilleries fire. It was much thanks to the artillery that Abbas had been able to make his conquest In his own personal led army he had over 100 artillery pieces, hammering, night and day, down the walls of the enemy cities until they either fell like dust or the enemy begged for mercy. At the same time that Abbas had sieged Istanbul, he had directed two armies further into the Turkish territory, siegeing Macedonia and Bulgaria. In Bulgaria the first direct contact between two of the allies was made. Hungary had also send forces to siege that province and togheter the Persians and the Hungarians not only conquered the province but thee where also able to defeat an advancing Turkish army togheter.

As a sign of friendship and to honor the brave Hungarians, Abbas send the Hungarian King a golden sword, made of the finest craftsmen in Persia, in return the Hungarina King let the Persians take controll of their conquered province, Bulgaria and install a Persian garrison there.

In Istanbul, Abbas and Yoghurt was inspecting the palace of the Turkish Sultans, Abbas sitting on the Sultans throne. “I rember when I accompined your grand father, Tahmasp I the Turk slayer, on his campaign. He would have been proud to have a grand son as you...” Yoghurt said with a smile on his face. ”Yes, I think so to” Abbas answered and gave up a small laughter. ”By the way, how does it come that you have been able to be present, close to every Shah since the time of Shah Ismail I? Are you send by Allah or are you a Djinn?” Abbas finally asked his friend and advisor, although somewhat anxius about what kind of answer he would recive. Yoghurt gave Abbas a smile and answered ”Neither one, my friend, neither one...”

In Egypt the campaign had gone well. The Persians had defeated the forces of Tunis and keept pushing them back to Tunis itself. Emir Guna Beg, highest in command of the Persian forces in Egypt, soon reported to Abbas that Tunis had felled, and the he had capturing the Emir of Tunis, and conquered all of Tunis provinces. Abbas fell no sorrow for the heretic Emir of Tunis and ordered his execution. Emir Guna Beg was revarded with the title, Emir of Tunis and Tripoli, Lord of Africa and thus was Tunis incorporated into the Persian Empire.

In Istanbul, Abbas recieved yet another peace offering from the Turkish Sultan. The war had been going on for a while now and drawn many resourced from Persia. Abbas was also satisfied with the destruction of Tunis and his victories over the Turks so he accepted the Sultans offer, Anatolia and Smyrna to Persia. How ever, Abbas had barely begun his travel back to Isfahan to celeberate his victories as news was brought to him. Portugal, a heathen Kingdom far West that Persia have get in touch with through its colonies in Eastern Africa had declared war upon Persia, soon Portugals war decleration was folloed by another war decleration from both Nubia and the Sultanate of Aden. Abbas headed for Nubia...

Abbas destroyed an Nubian army in Egypt, and then togheter with Emir Guna Beg they marshced further south into Nubia itself. Abbas also set up a small cavalry unit who was shipped to Eastern Africa, there they succesfuly burned down several Portoguese trade posts. Abbas soon took advantage of this and established Persian trade posts instead. As the war against Nubia seemed going on well, some other bad news reched Abbas, Ethipoia and the Moghul Empire declared war aswell against Persia.

The Ethiopians quickly destroyed and savaged several of Persias trade posts in Estern Africa, until that cavalry unit who had been dispatch for doing the same against Portugal arrived. The Ehiopinas, how ever soon sued for peace as they heard rumours of the cavalry unit who was heading towards them. A white peace was signed.

As the Moghuls had declared war upon Persia it was urgent to finish the war in Nubia quikly and marsch to protect Persias Eastern provinces instead. Instead of trying to annex Nubia, as planned, Abbas accepted a peace from the Nubain King, a peace that granted Persia yet another province along the Red Sea. After this Abbas marsched against the Moghuls. The Moghuls had invaded Persia with an enourmous army consisting of nearly 50.000 men. Taking one province by another. Unfortunally for them, but luckily for Abbas, the provinces they sieged had no means to supply such a great army as the Moghuls had at their disposal. Diseases and starvation took its toll on the Moghuls, so when Abbas arrived in all his might, the Moghul invaders was defeated and driven back. Abbas himself, togheter with his trusted General, Emir Guna Beg, was then leading an army deep into Moghul territory, heading for Delhi itself. Beind him he let reinforcement take care of the fortress. He himself just marsched forward...

I am really looking forward to it;):D:D:D:D:D:D:D

As the war against the Moghuls wasnt enough to pressure Persia, the King of Georgia declared war upon Persia aswell, followed by a the Turkish Sultan. Already the people of Persia was tired of warfare and small units of rebells had begun to appear. In this situation, Abbas tried to bribe the Turksih Sultan. With an enormous tribute of 500.000 gold coins, the Turkish Sultan was convinced to halt his campaign As for Georgia, Abbas ordered one of his other Generals, Allahverdi Khan, to teach the heathen King of Georgia what it meant to oppose the Persian Shah.

Meanwhile, Abbas continued to marsch against Delhi. His only stop was at Kutch, when seeing the rich province he couldnt ressit to conquer it. Kutch riches was almost going beyond Abbas imagination, and Kutch was only one province of the Moghul Empire. After the conquest of Kutch, Abbas continued. How ever, he was pushed back by an Moghul army, pushed back to Kutch. On the other hand, when the Moghuls tried to push him out of Kutch he fought them back, thus a kind of cease fire appeared in India, Abbas in Kutch, staying there in over a year, and an Moghul army blocking his way to Delhi. Abbas was awaiting reinforcements, reinforcements who slowly conquered one province by another on its way to Kutch.

In Georgia, General Allahverdi Khan, defeated the Georgians and incorporated Georgia into Persia. Allahverdi Khan was rewarded with the all the estates that the former Georgian King had possessed for his victories.
