There is also a variant where the background flower is pink, which is seen in this shield of Granada after the Spanish conquest of it.

Didn't I tell you that he's "THE MAN"!?!

a question...

to everyone: first i have to say that the flags everyone made are awesome. unfortunately, i am among the photoshop deprived and tried using microsoft paint to edit the files (stop laughing). the ottoman's flag in particular was driving me crazy and i had used atjeh's to substitute for it; but, the point was that they are all very good, and now i can make some new countries...

anyway, i had a question for mad king james: i was wondering what inspired the flags for champa and mahrattis... i couldn't find anything on the net listing those countries.

Champa is my artistic interpretation of the goddess Uroja, the symbol of the Chams. If the Chams had a flag, no record remains of it's existance, so I freehanded that one.

The Mahrattis used a flag called the "Saffron Flag" the top stripe of the modern Indian flag comes from this (the bottom stripe is derived from the Mughal Empire who used a flag of that shade of green) The Sikhs ALSO used a flag called the "Saffron Flag" Called the 'Nishan Sahib' now I'm ASSUMING (and it's a big assumption) that the Sikh 'Nishan Sahib' is the same as the Mahratti 'Nishan Saheb' (they both just mean 'Saffron Flag')
Since even thought the Mahrattis no longer exist, the Sikhs are still around with a lively culture.

I could be wrong mind you, but either way, the color is right at least :p

And erm... just download my flags mod, it'll fix your ottoman problem ;)
