Hello, can someone please tell me how to create EGUFSM coats of arms using "The GIMP" ?

I have downloaded Birger's templates (vanilla, EGUFSM, hanging flags, etc.) and I think I read a while back that it is possible to make them using GIMP, but I have no idea how. Any ideas?

Thanks ;)

Well, It should be simple, first, resize the image you want to create the shield from, then open up the template file, open the source image as a layer, open the layers dialog (dialogs>layers) move the source image layer down, duplicate the source image, and save as a .bmp

It should be simple.
Also, try looking here, it might not be for GIMP, but it may help.

No, it didn't.

To be honest, GIMP seems a load of crap. I have Adobe Photoshop CS2 but no one can seem to tell me how to make a flag or shield using it, and MKJ's tutorials are out of date :(

I know :(

This place falls apart when Birger isn't around lol.
Birger is around still.
Deallus is taking care of GRT.
It is not falling apart these things just happens when a game gets old and when there is and newer version (EU3) coming out next year.
The modding gets a second place when a new version is in seight.

Okay, you seem to have misunderstood my post. I was being sarcastic. I know the forum is still up and running :)

Birger doesn't do much on the graphics front these days; I know he still uses the forums. I haven't seen Deallus in quite a while. He has quite a backlog of stuff to do on the Grand Request Thread, anyhow.

Finally, I can't wait for EU III :)
