I tried to add a new kind of ship with 4 sections, it works nicely in the ship designer screen but is not visible most of the time ingame.

To create the ship the only thing i did was create a frame with 4 locators for the 4 sections.

I am probally missing something because i have no experience with modelling :)

That wouldn't be a modelling issue. More likely it is a something else missing or setting in the exporter or an actual parameter that needs to be changed in game files.
 
The problem is the frame; when it's shader is set to a shader that isn't rendered at all (or there is no polygons in the frame), it will periodically render the whole ship invisible. Seems to be that only having PdxMeshShip applied in the .assets works correctly.
