Ships are just circles - no textures

Hi there, I bought the EIC Collection from Impulse and it installed just fine, but when I go to play there are no ships, just circles. I chose low graphics-and nothing. Chose highest and I get textureless crew and flags, but still no ships. I have updated my graphics card and all my other games run just fine. Any help would be appreciated.

After installing did you check for updates so that you have the latest patch?

Are you running any programs in the background while trying to play the game?

Did you try running the game in Windows XP compatibility mode?
